The Rock Unveils New Belt, Cena Puts Wrestlemania Spot On The Line: Feb 18, 2013, WWE Raw Results
By Keelan Balderson | Feb 19, 2013 | TV and PPV, Wrestling News | Tags: John Cena, The Rock | Comments

WWE Raw

Quick Results:

- CM Punk manages to coax John Cena in to putting his Wrestlemania spot against The Rock on the line in a match next week. By reminding Cena that he has never beat him, the kid’s hero produly walked in to the trap. “John Cena vs. CM Punk. If I win, you shut your mouth, crawl back in the hole you came from and go away. If you win, then you’re right. I don’t deserve to be in the main event of WrestleMania. If you beat me, you deserve it. My word, if you beat me in a match right here, right now, I will give you my WrestleMania title shot.” Punk was more than happy to oblige.

- Mark Henry squashes Sin Cara and cannot be bothered to deal with Great Khali again. “All you do is dance, if I wanted to dance I’d get a date,” yells the monster as if flippantly walks off.

- NO DQ match: The Miz def. US Champion Antonio Cesaro with the Figure Four, but the title was not on the line.

- Alberto Del Rio def. Dolph Ziggler by reversing the leaping DDT into a Cross Armbreaker. After the match Big E. Langston destroyed the tired Del Rio and Ziggler looked to cash in his briefcase, but before he could Ricard Rodriquez snatched it out of his hand.

- Sheamus interrupted Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett’s reveal of the “Dead Man Down” trailer. “You are not the star of ‘Dead Man Down,” says Sheamus. “My good friend Colin Farrell is. I’ve seen the preview, I think it’s a brilliant film, mainly because you don’t say a word.”

- Brodus Clay, Tensai & Naomi def. Primo, Epico & Rosa Mendes, with the Double Splash.

- Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter delivered their “State of the Union” address. “The state of the union is pathetic, but real Americans are not to blame,” Colter pontificated. People like Alberto Del Rio who come to this country just to pillage its wealth and productivity are to blame! Before the propaganda could go on, Daniel Bryan interrupted.

Jack Swagger def. Daniel Bryan with the Patriot Act.

- Vickie Guerrero signs Brad Maddox to Raw.

- Vince McMahon chases in his deal with Paul Heyman, who agreed to do anything if McMahon allowed the disqualification/count-out stipulation at the Elimination Chamber. Vince challenged Heyman to a fight!

- The Shield def. Ryback, Sheamus & Chris Jericho after Rollins hit Jericho with a springboard knee to the head.

- Damien Sandow attacked Kofi Kingston before their match could begin, but R-Truth returned for the save.

- Daniel Bryan costs Kane his match with Randy Orton.

- The Rock unveiled the new WWE Championship.

The revelation would have to wait, however, as John Cena picked that moment to crash The Brahma Bull’s party. Before the two old rivals could mix it up, though, CM Punk stormed out from the locker room area and felled Cena with a shot from the old WWE Championship. With Cena face-down on the ramp, Punk tossed the now-defunct design on its prone originator and hungrily eyed The Brahma Bull’s new championship.

Off Air News:

- After Raw went off the air Cody Rhodes hit the ring to inspect the new WWE title belt. The Rock proceeded to mock his mustache and then delivered the Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow.

- The new WWE belt has been waiting in the wings for months. Photos were leaked last year, but the design has been slightly modified since then. WWEShop are already selling a replica version.

CM punk could be a multimeis gold mine like cena and rock. This is the point they could thrust him into that world with the audience Cena and Rock are bringing. He has wrestling and acting talent. With the WWE machine behind him at first, he could literally go as far as he wants to in entertainment. But with WWE now a publicly traded company, and failures with the likes of diBiase, Miz, and kane branching out into movies and media, does vince have the grapefruits to pull the trigger one more time? and does he want to risk losing a fixture for the next 10-15 yrs to the rest of the world like rock?

@ Dave. Agree with most of what you say.But I don’t think I would call the Miz a failure. He is very well known and quite popular.Considering he just turned face.i think he is doing well considering he and John Morrison came up at the same time and look at Morrisons career.

miz still has real world fame though, and that carried him a bit, because he was on real world when people actually cared about it. he is a role-playing small screener. but he has talent for the mic, and in the right situation, he could turn what has been good wwe success/modest media success into more. but he still needs work.
