Bully Ray Proposes to Brooke Hogan: January 10, 2013, TNA Impact Wrestling Review
By Keelan Balderson | Jan 11, 2013 | TV and PPV, Wrestling News | | Comments

In defiance of his suspension Bully Ray returned to Impact Wrestling this week to save Brooke Hogan from Aces and Eights. With a confused Hulk Hogan looking on, the ECW Original then proposed to Brooke in the middle of the ring!

Also this week although Mr. Anderson’s alliances are still not clear, he explains why he’s considering the offer from Aces and Eights.

Quick Results:

- Sting, Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle put Aces and Eights on notice. Angle demands answers from Mr. Anderson. The self professed “a-hole” felt betrayed by his earlier battles with the MC and bitter that TNA simply overlooked him for Bully Ray.

- Kenny King def. Zema Ion, advancing to face Christian York at Genesis.

- Miss Tessmacher chooses Big Rob over Robbie E for a mixed tag match.

- Miss Tessmacher & Robbie T def Tara & Jesse, after Rob hit the Super Powerbomb. Following the match Big Rob and Tessmacher danced.

- Former WWE developmental star Jay Bradley def. Brian Cage in a Gut Check qualifying match.

- Joseph Park is back from training at OVW and pleads with Hulk Hogan to give him another match with Aces & Eights at Genesis. Hulk reluctantly agrees.

- Brooke Hogan pleads for Bully’s job back but Hulk refuses.

- Bobby Roode and Austin Aries bicker about what they should wear to the ring and who’s better.

- Jeff Hardy & James Storm def. Bobby Roode & Austin Aries via DQ, because Aries & Roode couldn’t stay out of each other’s business. After the match the pair beat down their opponents and posed with different world titles.

- Hernandez & Chavo attacked Matt Morgan and Joey Ryan backstage.

- Before Kurt Angle and Mr. Anderson could have their match Knox attacked Angle with the Hammer.

- Sting def. Knox with the Scorpion Deathdrop.

- Devon brings Brooke Hogan out to the ring; he has her captive. Bully Ray returned to save her. Hulk blames Bully for putting her in harms way, then in front of a live audience Bully Ray professed his love for Brooke and proposed!

Thoughts:

- Since we can’t realistically have a Hulk Hogan vs Bully Ray pay off match because of Hogan’s limitations, I was beginning to feel the annoyed father angle didn’t have much direction in terms of PPV interest. While that still remains somewhat true, it looks like Bully Ray might be brought back to get revenge on Aces and Eights for kidnapping Brooke. In that sense we could still get a PPV match out of the storyline.

- At this point Mr. Anderson is as stale as hell and I couldn’t care less whether he joins Aces and Eights or not.

- While the World Title 3 Way will be great in the ring, this bickering between Roode and Aries completely ruins their characters. Two suited no-nonsense professionals have become squabbling children.

I’ll bet anything that Bully Ray is still going to turn out to be the leader of Aces and Eights. The swerve will give him his biggest heel push in years.
