October 03, 2011, WWE Raw Results
By Brad Hoy | Oct 4, 2011 | TV and PPV | | Comments

- Randy Orton Vs Drew McIntyre – Orton won via an RKO
- Mark Henry Vs John Morrison – Mark Henry won via The World’s Strongest Slam
- Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres Vs Beth Phoenix and Natalya – No contest
- Jinda Mahal Vs Santino Marella – Santino won via the Cobra
- John Cena, CM Punk, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne and Mason Ryan Vs Christian, Del Rio, Rhodes, Ziggler, Swagger, and Otunga – Sheamus won via a brogue kick on Dolph Ziggler

Monday night Raw kicked off in an unusual way, no promo and with Randy Orton first on the card.

Jobber alert!

- Randy Orton Vs Drew McIntyre:
There was not much to this match and didn’t seem to do much for either superstars, Orton won via an RKO.

Mark Henry began to make his way to the ring and was confronted by Orton which led to a scrap outside the ring and left Mark Henry the wrong side of the barrier.

***Commercial Break***

Henry was back on his feet and standing in the middle of the ring awaiting his opponent.

Jobber alert!

- Mark Henry Vs John Morrison:
Much like the Orton/McIntyre match, there was not much to it and didn’t do anything for either wrestler (apart from burying JoMo). Henry won via world’s strongest slam.

After the match Mark Henry cut a good promo stating that he is now “done” with Randy Orton and after being show a clip that the Big show will return on SmackDown, Henry promised it to be the shortest return in WWE history.

***Commercial Break***

All the heel’s were made their way to the ring, Christian, Del Rio, Rhodes, Ziggler, Swagger, Vickie Guerrero and Otunga began to say that they will be suing the WWE as they feel they are in an unsafe working environment. The segment was soon cut short as Triple H came to the ramp and made comments that there use to be a day when men stood in that ring and fought and it didn’t matter if they got beat up they simply picked themselves. HHH continued to say that he wants them to do what the fans pay them to do, which is “shut up and fight” when they all compete in a 12 man tag match later in the night.

The promo didn’t really seem to go anywhere or serve any purpose for example it didn’t provide any heat for any superstar, it just seemed an excuse to get Hunter on screen.

***Commercial Break***

- Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres Vs Beth Phoenix and Natalya:
The match seemed to end before it got started, as Beth and Kelly went to the outside straight away and Kelly began slamming Beth’s head against the announce table. Whilst Kelly was doing this I’d like to add that Kelly was screaming at the top of her lungs which was almost as annoying as trying to believe Kelly could put that type of beating on the Glamazon, who could snap Kelly like a twig if she wanted.

The match was a no contest

HHH and John laurinaitis were seen backstage, laurinaitis advised HHH to ask all the superstars what they think of who he is doing as COO. laurinaitis then asked Hunter if he was afraid, in which Triple H replied by grabbing John by the scruff of the neck and said that the only thing he is afraid of is that laurinaitis is undermining everything he does. HHH then told John to get everyone to the ring including himself.

***Commercial Break***

Jinda Mahal made his way to the ring and began speaking a foreign language with no translation.

Santino Marella then made his return to the WWE after suffering injuries from a car accident a few months ago. Santino then mocked Jinda by speaking some rather funny made up jargon in the only way Santino can.

- Jinda Mahal Vs Santino Marella:
The match lasted no longer than 30 seconds as Santino hit the cobra and it was all over.

***Commercial Break***

There was an interesting clip shown of Brodus Clay, showing him being very dominant in the ring. Therefore this looks like he will be getting a bit of a push on SmackDown.

Then we were treated to some “unseen” footage from HIAC that apparently we weren’t shown at the PPV. However they forgot to say that we actually did see the whole clip live at HIAC.

Then, The Miz and R-truths Youtube clip was played, within the clip both “Fired” superstars said they only wanted their jobs back, plus they have pressed charges on HHH for assault and that they are sorry to the WWE fans that it has come to this.

***Commercial Break***

- 12 man tag match (Faces Vs Heel’s):

John Cena, CM Punk, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne and Mason Ryan Vs Christian, Del Rio, Rhodes, Ziggler, Swagger, and Otunga.

The match seemed steady throughout, with Punk and Sheamus getting big pops and Cena getting the usual mixed reaction.

***Commercial Break***

The crowd really began to get behind the match, Vickie was sent to the back after being spotted putting Swaggers foot on the rope to break the count.

***Commercial Break***

John – seems pointless apart from getting in the mood for ss

Then it was time for the wonder boy, John Cena to do what he does best and perform less than a handful of poorly executed moves, which included an extremely bad 5 knuckle shuffle as the camera accidently captured the no contact with Cena’s fist on Del Rio’s head.

Nevertheless the finish was very entertaining, which included all the 12 superstars hitting their finishers one after another, with Sheamus getting the win.

Overall I didn’t really see the point of this match apart from getting the fans into the mood for survivor series but was still rather entertaining.

***Commercial Break***

All wrestlers, divas and referees make their way to ringside including the return of Jerry the King Lawler.

***Commercial Break***

HHH’s music hits and he nervously makes his way to the ring. Hunter began saying that he didn’t ask for the job of COO, he was given it. Also he then stated that truth and Miz need to stop winging and apologise for being babies. HHH then interestingly began to say the he is old school, for example he likes it when people beat the hell out of each other, the kayos, the confrontation, the battles that is the WWE and he would bet his life that the WWE Universe enjoys that also. Yes HHH we do, however there is one thing you’re missing and forgetting to realise…we are not and have not received any of that for a very long time!

People are then asked what they think of Hunters performance as COO, Wade Barrett, referee mike chioda, Beth Phoenix and Jerry Lawler said how bad things are at the moment and that it’s not a safe place to work. The chosen speakers then each gave a vote of no confidence, to which The King added he is walking out. All superstars, referees, divas, commentators, ring announcers, bell ringers, even camera men followed up the ramp. John laurinaitis then comes from the back and stands at the top of the stage, looks at HHH, shakes his head and walks backstage.

HHH is left in the middle of the ring as Raw goes off the air.

To sum up my thoughts of Raw, it seemed to be a show of a lot about nothing. For example pointless matches which did nothing for no one. However there were some exciting and fun to watch moments leading to the main part of the show which was the HHH segment. I can’t help noticing that WWE recently has been focused around one man and for once it’s not John Cena, It’s not even a wrestler, it’s the COO. I understand that as the new COO the storylines are going to include HHH but it’s seemed to be taking the attention away from people who maybe deserve it more, people like CM Punk, I mean what happened to his outstanding seemingly foolproof storyline? Oh yes that’s right, the WWE messed it up. It makes me question whether the WWE is going to improve at all. I hope they prove me wrong and create or do something amazing that reignites that almost burnt out flame in the true wrestling fans hearts once again.

What will next week hold in store for The Game HHH?

It was very cool to start the show with a match. While it wasn’t a good match by any means, it was still better than when the first match doesn’t start until half an hour into the show. That was one of the few things I always thought Nitro did right. They would often start the show with a fairly fast paced match and then go over to Mike Tenay and company to properly introduce the show. Granted it was a squash match last night, but still, I think having a match right away is the way to go.

  • Brad Hoy

Yes I definitely agree, it should be the way forward and its good to see little changes taking place.

I was totally caught off guard by what happened at the end of Raw. Every single employee of WWE walked out on Triple H accept for CM Punk, John Cena, Randy Orton and maybe a few more who weren’t even out at ringside for some unknown reason. Triple H has lost complete control of WWE and for no reason fired Kevin Nash, The Miz and R-Truth. I think if Vince McMahon came back then the WWE would go back to normal and after what happened at the end of last nights Raw when everyone walked out on Triple H, its going to be interesting to see what happens on Smackdown this week.

  • Brad Hoy

I think my friend Joe Ward said it best “The biggest problem with the Hunter Angle is that WWE has given me NO REASON TO CARE whether Hunter has the COO job or not. He said himself it wasn’t a job he asked for; it was just given to him. He is not a sympathetic character in the role – for his whole career his character has been about doing what is right for Hunter not anyone else, so all of a sudden we’re supposed to believe he cares about the wrestlers? Laurinaitis actually makes more sense in the role. He hired most of those guys and they would have shown some loyalty to him for giving them a chance. Hunter’s character has done nothing for them, so why would they be loyal and want to work for him? I wouldn’t.”

And my prediction for why Punk cena and orton were not ringside is that they will be apart of the Survivor Series team and that will be developed in the coming weeks

  • Booker T

Kelly-Kelly; What the hell was that? Was it that time of the month? Did someone tell her that all that screaming was a good idea? Ya look good, but just shut up and wrestle, bitch!

And what was the deal with EVERYBODY walking out on RAW? What were the cameramen and tech support people angry about? And where were the wrestlers gonna go? Impact? ROH? (that was a joke, of coarse).

  • Carl Keane

With Taker, Big Show and Kane contemplating retirement, this seems like WWE’s attempt at carrying out a last stand story line, with HHH embodying the values of the stupidly sought after ‘Attitude era’.
I hope the anonymous general manager makes some noise again, reveals himself as Foley, and HHH works from behind the scenes.

  • Adora Mane

I haven’t posted in months, but I just coudln’t sit back and watch this garbage without adding my two cents. Firstly, not every WWE employee walked out. Not even all of Raw walked out. This is a poorly conceived storyline that will, most likely, go the way of the Nexus, New Nexus and Punk storylines. The writers can’t seem to focus for m ore that a few weeks at a time. The shows remind me of some of the indy shows I’ve seen.

I look fo HHH to relinquish power next week. AS Johnny Ace comes out to “assume” power as the next in line, I imagine Hunter will say he hand picked his replacemnt, and it will be Foley.

  • Brad Hoy

I agree Adora, the WWE don’t seem to have the patients to continue with a long term storyline, yet they will produce barely mediocre storyline once every two weeks.

As of next week, I think HHH will reveal his replacement as Mick Foley and don’t get me wrong I’d chose Mick over Hunter any day of the week but it might be a bit too soon to play this card as SS is round the corner and I don’t think they will have enough time to build a storyline for that. Therefore if it was me, then I’d build the SS angle very strongly to then have it so if a certain team loses then HHH is out, In which he then brings out Foley. I feel this is one of the only ways they can redeem the current situation of bad story telling but that’s just my opinion…

  • Adora Mane

I’m an old school fan. I’m not going to say how long but sufice to say I’ve seen just about everything. I’ve cheered with the best and scratched my head at the absurd and ridiculous. What I cannot understand is why, given that WWE is scripted, can they not produce a quality product? It’s done all the time in movies, tv, comic booksetc.

The answer, I think is fairly simple. They don’t have to give us quality because they are guaranteed viewership. There’s no competition. TNA’s a joke, too. When people ask, I still say I watch, but now I add that used to be a fan.

  • Rob

I really wanted to know who the anonymous RAW gm was. Stephanie McMahon would have been a good addition to RAW. Shame on the WWE writers.
