Former WCW Tag star passes away:
Former WCW Tag Team wrestler James Jefferson, of the Mod Squad, passed away last Friday in South Carolina.
“Jimmy” and his brother Mack worked up through the ranks of Crockett’s Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling in the early 80s, teaming as the Jeffers or Jeffersons, before getting their break as a Biker gang known as the Mod Squad. Jim became Spike and Mack became Basher. They were sometimes managed by JD Costello.

Under the new role they earned some fame in Florida, Memphis and The Central States. Their last run came in the early 1990s for WCW, where they worked the undercard of the shows.
Over their career they held the NWA Florida, NWA Central States, AWA Southern and Atlantic Coast tag belts.
In later life Jimmy was “Coach Jim” to local youngsters playing baseball and soccer.
Here is one of the mod Squad’s latter matches against Sting and Arn Anderson…
