Ryback’s Mania Opponent, TNA Release X-Division Stars? Spud Wins Boot Camp, Rock’s Next Movie
By Keelan Balderson | Jan 23, 2013 | Wrestling News | Tags: Ryback | Comments

Ryback vs Big Show rumor:
The current word is that WWE are considering having Ryback vs The Big Show at Wrestlemania, with Ryback getting the win.

WWE have reportedly been looking for somebody that would be considered a memorable feat for Ryback to go over, before putting him back in to the main event.

This would suggest that despite his recent promo Ryback will not be winning the Royal Rumble.

Here are the participants confirmed so far:

* John Cena
* Sheamus
* Randy Orton
* Dolph Ziggler (has to choose between No. 1 or No. 2)
* Heath Slater
* Jinder Mahal
* Drew McIntyre
* Antonio Cesaro
* Wade Barrett
* The Miz
* Ryback

TNA release Kid Kash and Christian York?:
Rumors have surfaced suggesting that TNA have released X-Division stars Christian York and Kid Kash. Both of their profiles have been removed from the ImpactWrestling.com website, which is usually a strong indicator.

That being said Kash, a former X-Division champion who has had several runs with the company, took to Twitter to deny the reports:

“Don’t believe everything you hear. Rumours that I have left TNA are completely false. I’m still with the company.”

York has yet to address the rumors but it would be a shock if he was gone so short in to his run.

Rockstar Spud wins TNA British Boot Camp:
The season finale of TNA British Boot Camp saw Rockstar Spud win the TNA contract.Spud beat Marty Scurll and The Blossom Twins to win the semi-worked reality show, which airs on Challenge in the UK.

A press release reads…

Spud overcame rivals The Blossom Twins and Marty Scurll in the Challenge Late Zone contest, which was judged by TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter and ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan. The foursome were mentored by British wrestling legend Rollerball Rocco.

Spud’s prize is a full-time contract with TNA IMPACT WRESTLING and the chance to step into the ring alongside his boyhood hero Hulk Hogan, Olympic gold medallist Kurt Angle, ‘The Icon’ Sting and many more of the world’s most recognisable wrestlers.

TNA IMPACT WRESTLING is broadcast every Sunday night at 9pm on Challenge TV in the UK and Ireland, as well as more than 120 other countries.

Spud said: “This is a dream come true. For anyone out there who tells you that you can’t, I just proved that you CAN!

“I now can’t wait to hit the Impact Zone and mix it up with the best professional wrestlers in the world. I promise I’ll make everyone at home in the UK proud. But I can’t promise I’ll keep my mouth shut while doing it.”

TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter said: “This was a very difficult decision to make. All four Boot Camp contestants have great talent and potential and grew as both wrestlers and people throughout the series.

“They all wanted to win so badly and it took us a very long time to decide. In the end, Rockstar Spud’s character and charisma tipped the balance. But all four are more than ready to be stars. It just goes to show what amazing talent there is to be discovered in the UK.”

TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp’s Executive Producer Jeremy Borash added: “In the series, Rockstar Spud evolved before our very eyes and is a textbook example of not judging a book by it’s cover. In the beginning of the series, most did not give him a chance. Yet, by the end he had won over Rollerball Rocco, Hulk Hogan, Dixie Carter and our viewers.”

Rockstar Spud, Marty Scurll and The Blossom Twins are all currently appearing on the TNA Road To Lockdown Tour of the UK and Ireland.

The Rock in kid’s movie:
Entertainment websites are tipping The Rock to help produce and star in a planned kid’s film called Teddy Bear, about a bear that protects a young girl when she sleeps.

“Teddy Bears: Protecting innocent children from monsters under the bed since 1902.”

No writer is attached yet and further details are being kept secret. New Line is hoping to launch a big four-quadrant franchise.

    yesterday, I watched the rock bleading in the ring after being attacked by 3 men, today I read that he is going to be in a movie with a teddy. simply amazing I think :D

  • deadman

    Ryback vs Big Show, while it doesn’t really excite me, it is a good move. And I’m sure he’ll do some insane feat of strength to win the match, helping to put him over and not having Big Show lose too much cred.

    Although hell, it’ll probably be no different then when “The Giant” fought goldberg…

  • Neverheat

    I agree with deadman on ryback, it’s good to move slower with ryback that people don’t get bored…because I think there is potentially huge market for him in the future. you would think that if sheamus has the power to lift big show, so would ryback :)

    York can’t talk, so I wouldn’t be surprised. Kid Kash however is still a great talent. Not surprised by all contestants on the tour either, Boot Camp had to lead to something.
