WWE video game license update:
As previously noted the WWE video game license is being sold on as part of THQ’s bankruptcy asset sales. It can now be confirmed that the early developmental of WWE ’14 will also be part of the sale, meaning another video game company can pick up where THQ left off. While technically they could cancel the game, it’s unlikely considering WWE’s popularity.
“Since I’ve been with the WWE, every time I’ve gotten hurt there’s actually been moments in my career where I’m like, ‘alright sweet, I just tore my gluteus medius tendon in my hip and I have to go get surgery, at least I’m getting a break,’” says Punk.
“I go to get surgery and the doctor gives me my pre-op MRI and says that it’s not torn off the bone and he’s not going to cut me and I’ll do rehab. And I’ll ask, ‘what’s rehab on that,’ and he’ll say ‘oh, 2-3 months.’ So in my mind, I’m like, ‘cha-ching! I just scored three months of not being around all these people that I hate right now. Awesome!’
“And then Vince McMahon calls you and goes, ‘Heard you’re not getting surgery, that’s good news! I need you at TV on Monday to do commentary.’ And I’m like, ‘alright.’ You know what I mean? You’re on your iPad and you’re like x-ing out the Hawaii Marriott website and you’re like, ‘alright, I’ll see you Monday, thanks man.’”
Edge downplays possibility of working as GM:
WWE Hall of Famer Edge downplayed the idea of him being a WWE GM during a Twitter update over the weekend. He wrote:
“Raw GM would still involve lotsa travel which at this point still bothers my neck. As I recover more, who knows.”
When to expect Christian and Mark Henry back on TV:
While Christian is still set for a return by the Royal Rumble PPV, there is still a possibility that Mark Henry might be hanging up the boots. If he does return from his shoulder injury, it won’t be before Wrestlemania.
