Bourne Injury Update, Harold Makes ‘Gay Slur’, WWE Pushing On Air Relationships, Mickie Talks Tumor
By Keelan Balderson | Dec 9, 2012 | Wrestling News | Tags: Evan Bourne, Mason Andrews | Comments

Evan Bourne able to work out:
WWE star Evan Bourne is now able to put stress on his injured foot during workouts. He revealed on Twitter earlier this week that he’s back using a treadmill and performing squats.

The former Tag Team Champion mangled his foot in a car accident in March, breaking it in four places and dislocating it in five.

Being such a high-flyer in the ring, there’s some concern that this could permanently restrict his maneuverability when he makes his return.

Harold of Anger Management skit called out for ‘Gay Slur’:
WWE have publicly distanced themselves from independent wrestler Scorpio Sky after he made an apparent “gay slur” on Twitter.

A WWE statement reads:
“WWE strongly believes that everyone should be treated with respect and this principle is the foundation of our anti-bullying initiative, “Be a STAR”. Mr. Andrews no longer works for WWE and we have no plans to work with him in the future.”

Sky (real name Schuyler Andrews) played the character of Harold during WWE’s anger management skits with Kane and Daniel Bryan. He also had a brief run in TNA as Mason Andrews.

The controversy surrounds his use of the term “faggot”.

Sky later made light of the situation on Twitter, writing:
“…be boy girl gay straight short tall big small I don’t care. They better be a Lakers fan though.”

WWE looking for new role for Divas?:
WWE is conducting research in to what role fans most want to see their female performers in.

The company have laid out four categories: wrestlers, love interests, managers and dancers, and are undertaking focus groups to see which category or combination of categories are most appealing.

With the AJ Lee/John Cena storyline, Rosa’s recent flirting with Alberto Del Rio, and Natalya’s relationship with Khali, it appears WWE are already going forward with the “love interest” category. This may be to target a female demographic, which is part of the reason for introducing the Fandango character.

One aspect of the focus group asks fans to compare the Divas of today to Divas of previous eras and which they prefer.

Mickie James discusses benign tumor:
TNA Knockout Mickie James discussed taking time off to have a benign tumor removed during an interview with the Diva-Dirt.com website.

“It was pretty scary. I didn’t get into a whole big ordeal as far as my surgery went because it was so scary and very personal, and kind of humbling in a sense,” said the former Knockouts champion.

“In this industry, we’re so accustomed to fighting off pain or negating it, and working through it, sometimes we don’t take little things very seriously. Most times when we think of getting hurt or having to go to the hospital, it’s usually for to do with an injury in the ring, so for it to be for something personal and to have this mass… and thank God it was benign.”

On possibly winning her ninth major championship at Final Resolution:
“It would be incredible. They always say though, if you’ve won the championship eight times, it means you’ve lost it eight times. At the same time, I can say anytime I’ve won the championship, it’s been monumental for me, for my career. The matches have been incredible. And anytime I’ve lost it, I can say the same. I’m definitely going to go into this Sunday full steam ahead with a purpose. I really want this Knockouts Championship. [...] It’s often negated how much that championship means to us, because it truly means at that time, at that point, you are the best.”

“I know that Trish’s record — no one will ever capture that, winning the Women’s Championship seven times, especially now it’s retired, but hats off to her. She’s an incredible woman and athlete.”

On nearly being called up with CM Punk in WWE:
“I was supposed to debut a few times [before debuting as Trish's fan], and even debuted with Punk on Sunday Night Heat. We came back through the curtain and they’re like, ‘Uh uh, we don’t see you two together at all. No way’. And they pulled the match. It was supposed to air on Sunday Night Heat and it never aired. I was like, ‘What happened? Were we awful? What do you mean we don’t match?’ I get it now and I’m grateful… I wonder how my career would’ve been different had I actually debuted in one of those different storylines that got canned at the last minute while I was at TV.”

if wwe is for children, they should dump the idea of using women as sex objects. They should wrestle, nothing more. These silicon + botox whores are not interesting.

When the Diva’s come out & have a match, that’s my Que to go do something else or change the channel until their segment is over. They botch a lot of moves and they expect me to believe that a diva can be down for the 3 count after a trip & fall or a clothesline…

  • Peckar

Sky had the choice of both companies originally. Bad move it seemed.

I have said it a million times when used correctly Female wrestlers can be a goldmine, sadly it appears only Dutch Mantel and J.J. seem to understand that as well as how to correctly book them! Also I think as usual WWE’s problem with their woman is that they hold these stupid beauty contest,to find Divas instead of just hiring girls from the independents or around the world and letting them do their thing. Even when they hire a talented woman, they never let her free to do what she can, I read that jillian hall could land a shooting star press better than Evan Bourne, but we never got to see it! Also @Pekar yeah man I agree Sky messed up big time! He turned down TNa for WWE but WWE never even had him wrestle! they basically used him as an actor!
