Raw Rating Rises, JBL Made Taker Laugh, Orton Gone For Good? Bourne Update
By Keelan Balderson | Jun 13, 2012 | Wrestling News | | Comments

- This week’s episode of WWE Raw Supershow drew a 3.2 cable rating, which way up from previous weeks. If the first 2 hours are the only ones counted, the show would have done a 3.45 number.

- In a recent #AftermathRadio interview, JBL (@JCLayfield) tells Arda Ocal (@arda_ocal) and Jimmy Korderas (@jimmykorderas) about his Seven Summits for Kids project, a recent visit to WWE Headquarters and what he shot there, and finally (in the YouTube clip) how he enjoyed making his opponents laugh in the ring, and describes the one and only time he made the Undertaker crack.

- It’s a possibility that WWE will not bring back Randy Orton following his 60 day suspension. According to the Wrestling Observer there are a number of reasons for this, including heat from Vince McMahon, his financial demands and his injury proneness.

McMahon is reportedly not happy with Orton’s backstage attitude, the feeling being that although he’s grown up and no longer trashing hotel rooms, he’s still very bitter and arrogant. Vince was not happy with his “don’t care” attitude following the suspension and some within the company feel he was quick to lose his passion when he was moved down the card, instead of persevering and trying harder.

The other issue is his longterm contract, which will keep him in the company at least 8 more years. The feeling is that his drawing power no longer justifies his wage, and he’s likely to keep re-injuring himself, taking more out of their investment. CM Punk is now considered higher on the totem pole in terms of star power and longevity.

This is the same argument against Rey Mysterio, who is constantly injured, but still demands a high wage.

WWE could possibly renegotiate Orton’s contract, but if he plays hardball or continues with a negative attitude, it may be the last we see of him on WWE TV for some time.

Fine if with me if the master of the headlock is off TV! His matches are boring as all hell.

  • Andy R

Orton is much better as a heel. Orton vs Punk was a good series and wud be good again with Punk this time face & Orton heel. But he is better as a heel.

  • Peckar

injury prone? lmao I bet Mr Anderson is having a giggle.

  • scwink

I won’t miss Orton.been pretty bored with him for a cuple years now.

  • kalzor

Why are people watching raw? it’s just telling creative they want more of boringitis.

  • Hitman

I think Orton is a good wrestler and he’s better technically than the majority of wrestlers on the roster. I also think he was far better as a heel because he probably is a douche bag in real life.
But if his work ethic is poor then he deserves to get fired because it was important that other wrestlers like sheamus, punk and bryan got a shot at being the number one guy for the company.

But if he does leave, I can see TNA snapping him up in a heart beat, they don’t really care about attitude and commitment because short-term he will help boost ratings.

  • Rob

Wow WWE is letting go of their big PG star, eagerly waiting for cena’s turn now.

  • Nelson

…yep, Orton will be picked by TNA for sure when he does leave…
