The fledgling push of Randy Orton just got a lot worse as the Viper has been suspended for breaking the WWE Wellness Policy. WWE.com announced:
“In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Randy Orton for 60 days effective today for his second violation of the company’s policy.”
The company do not openly reveal what substances wrestlers have been suspended for.
Orton’s first suspension came in 2006, which WWE put down to “unprofessional conduct” due to his bad attitude and being caught smoking marijuana.
He was also named and shamed by Sports illustrated in 2007 as one of the many WWE stars using an online pharmacy to obtain steroids and testosterone. Unlike 10 others Orton was not suspended at the time sparking speculation that he was getting special treatment. WWE later clarified that he was listed as obtaining the substances prior to the Wellness Policy being enacted.
One more strike and he faces being released from his contract.
