- The media have ran with a controversial CM Punk Tweet where he told a user to off himself for opposing Gay Marriage being legalized in North Carolina. The user wrote “Man was meant for woman, and even the thought of homo’s make me sick,” and Punk replied “Kill Yourself”.
Twitter has become a hot button issue in the UK (where the user was from) after several people have been arrested for public order offenses and racism due to controversial Tweets they’ve made. This is probably why national papers picked up on the story.
In another reply Punk advised a fan who disagreed with him to “drink bleach.”
Punk soon apologized for the way he handled himself, writing:
“I was pretty worked up today. The amendment 1 situation had me all wound up. I stand by my thoughts on gay marriage 100%. How I defended…
“That stance was 100% wrong. I admit it. You can’t stoop to others levels. Sometimes I fight fire with fire and it isn’t ways the best way.”
“To @ezeekay: I apologize. I don’t want you to kill yourself. I want you to better yourself. Just as I want to better myself.
“I’ll start by being the better man and once again, apologize for my harsh reaction to your opinion of homosexuals making you “sick” @ezeekay”
The UK Mirror also posted up a fan clip from last year where Punk told an audience member he had a homo haircut.
It’s not clear if this has caused any heat within WWE.

- Martha Hart the widow of the late Owen Hart has once again refiled a lawsuit against WWE, Vince and Linda McMahon for their usage of Owen’s name. It includes claims that rights to his name should have reverted back to him in death, that because it’s his legal name it could not be considered his “ring name”, and therefore WWE does not have the rights to use, market and promote that name in their materials and DVD releases, that WWE have failed to pay royalties after his death, and that in DVD/Book releases WWE used personal photos without permission.
