- The court has decided that the family of Nancy Benoit will not be paid $19.6 million in damages for Hustler Magazine’s printing of a naked image of Nancy following the infamous Double-Murder-Suicide. The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlantat ruled that there wasn’t enough evidence to support claims that Nancy didn’t give permission for the photo to be published.

The argument that the image was not newsworthy is therefore no longer relevant.

why in the hell would you wan’t money out of your daughters death? I just don’t get it, how does the money help?

  • scwink

I think it is more of trying to punish Hustler and take back the money they made off of nancy’s photo. The only reason they published it was because of the murder. So I think that is why.Maybe they would then use the money for old bills that may have come up.I am sure being in the wrestling business they ahd no insurance or life insurance. So it could be for that. but I am just speculating. Although I think Hustler should have had to pay.

  • Justice

Yeah I agree Hustler should have had to pay something, even if they knocked it down from the 19 mill to something smaller. The mag was clearly trying to capitalize off of murder/death shock value which is pretty disgusting.

Is anything sacred anymore? People will sell out their souls (and their mother’s souls) for a damn buck!
