- WWE announced a 14,817 live attendance for Extreme Rules from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The show was a legitimate sell out.
- It appears john Cena will taking some time off following last night’s PPV. In a post-match promo he said:
“I’m probably going to get sent home for speaking when I’m not spoken to, but I think I’m headed home anyway. And if I know my boss, he’s going to kick me out the door, but he’s going to do it on air, so I hope this is for the world to see.”
When he was going to the back he could be heard telling officials he’d hurt his arm.
Cena has been working with nagging pain for a while so this may be the storyline reason to keep him off for a few weeks. He has also been confirmed for the Marine 3: Homefront movie, which may take up his time.
- Following her return last night and title win Layla posted the following on Twitter:
“Thank U guys 4 all Ur Support! Its been a long Journey! I’m so happy to be back! New Diva‘s Champion Let the fun times begin #flawless”
Kharma was trending world-wide on Twitter as fans expected her to be the mystery opponent. It’s likely she’ll return in a few weeks and take the title from Layla.
- Chris Jericho posted up an image of his back, still red with welts after his post match shower:
He wrote on Twitter:
“What a war at Extreme Rules. Don’t think wrestling can be real? I beg to differ…. @CMPunk #kendostick”
