WWE Star Wanted To Speak Out About Benoit, WrestleFanFest Scam Update
- In a recent interview with the Fight Network, Ring Of Hell author Matthew Randazzo said the project was not initially his. He revealed no names but stated a current WWE wrestler contacted him after the Benoit tragedy and asked if he’d help him write a book on the case. For whatever reason the wrestler pulled out and Randazzo did the book by himself. My review of the book can be found in the DVD/Book Review section.
- I spoke to a few people regarding the WrestleFanFest debacle last year and they are no closer to finding the promoter Chris Salisbury than they were at the time. One person who has had multiple dealings with him managed to get him to court and win a case, although he ran off without paying.
“I did win in court. Chris owes me $7,500, however, Chris emptied out his business bank account at Guaranty Federal Bank in Austin Texas; the account was an LLC called Sports Promotions USA…Chris has disappeared. I always wonder, in these situation, how a person trades their reputation for
a little bit of money. lack of character I suppose. But there is a saying that fits this situation, what goes around, comes around, and for Chris, one day, it will come around. My hope is when it does come around for Chris, it’ll be from one very large professional wrestler.
The event was a big shambles, with wrestlers staging sit down protests, fights, no shows and bounced checks.
