WWE Star Kane Takes Out UFC Star Tim Sylvia In Bar Fight?
UPDATE:
It turns out this was a hoax by the ever classy MMA community (I did say I couldn’t confirm it). I guess they can’t get enough of Lesnar dominating the sport.
It seemed the speed at which it was picked up by all the sites gave it an air of legitimacy and I chose to go with it as a rumor. As is rarely the case the rumor had no fire at all. In future I will try to contain myself when such a juicy rumor erupts and double check with wrestling sources like normal!
Kane told the UK Sun, which itself is renowned for false stories:
“Undertaker trained MMA style and I have to some extent too. I actually got my start as a shoot fighter in Japan. Wrestlers are a little tougher than we’re generally given credit for and I think we’d represent ourselves well.”

Although I cannot confirm this yet, several MMA sites are reporting that WWE star Kane took out former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Tim Sylvia in a bar fight.

“A witness says the two were arguing and Tim Sylvia instigated the fight. Jacobs quickly took Sylvia to the ground and repeatedly punched him in the face. The bartender along with a bystander helped pull Jacobs off Sylvia. Sylvia was said to have suffered a broken nose and a black eye.
The police were notified but since the fight was not prolonged and neither men wanted to press any charges, no arrests were made. Sylvia was driven by a friend who was with him to the hospital to treat the broken nose. Glen Jacobs left the scene with his wife shortly after.”
Kane is one of the many WWE wrestlers that are fans of MMA and the UFC, and has actually casually trained in the sport similar to Batista. It must also be noted that he is a lot bigger than Sylvia.

I always hear the majority of people talking about how wrestlers would never actually hold thier own against “real fighters” but this really put a smile on my face; especially since Kane is my favorite ever wrestler (despite WWE’s bismal 2004- downturn)

This story was manufactured. Sylvia was in Bettendorf training at the time. If it gets both guys some publicity that’s great, but people, it’s entertainment. If God and Superman got in a fight, who would win?
