- A hot crowd this year at the WWE Great American Bash PPV, from the Nassau Coliseum. Before the show Michael Cole and Mike Adamle were heavily booed as usual and a reader sent word that they saw William Regal before they entered the building.

- There was one un-aired dark match that saw Umaga beat Mr Kennedy with the Samoan Spike.

- Hawkins and Ryder defeated Miz & Morrison, Finlay & Hornswoggle and Jesse and Festus for the tag team titles, after Jesse was dropped off the top rope. It was played up as a fluke win.

- In a fairly poor slow paced match Shelton Benjamin made a shock win over Matt Hardy for the US title. JR played up the accomplishment of Benjamin having held both the US and Intercontinental titles.

- Next they cut to a pre-recorded CM Punk promo from WWE mobile. He stressed that you don’t need to be a chiseled monster to be World champion.

- Recap video of the Edge and Vickie wedding disaster, plugging the WWE text poll. Who do you sympathize most for, Edge or Vickie?

- Tommy dreamer looked set to win the ECW title from Mark Henry (with Tony Atlas) when Colin Delaney turned on Dreamer and pushed him off the top rope. Henry then picked up the win. Is Delaney joining Henry?

- Recap video of the Chris Jericho, HBK feud.

- In a match with great back and forth action Chris Jericho beat Shawn Michaels due to excessive blood loss. The tide turned when Lance Cade came down, shortly after Jericho elbowed HBK in the eye and busted him open. Aft several minutes of the ref pleading and Jericho continuing to give the beat down the match was ended as Shawn Michaels was deemed unfit to continue. (At least Sting didn’t come down and tell Jericho to stop).

- Sumerslam commercial.

- Edge delivered a subdued promo against Triple H for what he did on Smackdown.

- In a short Divas match Michelle McCool reversed the Sharpshooter of Natalya to win the first ofever Divas title. (WWE Divas scream too much).

- Chris Jericho interrupted McCool’s celebration and told all the fans to keep their ticket stubs because they just witnessed Shawn Michaels last match.

- CM Punk video package

- CM Punk retained the World Heavyweight championship due to a double disqualification, in a match that he really needed to win clean to cement his main event push. Kane interfered causing the ending to what was a good bout. He choke slammed Punk and and then took out a cameraman before looking at his bag and asking “is he alive or dead.” Batista then Batista Bombed Punk, seemingly continuing their feud. Why was this match not 2nd from last?

- In the New York City Parking Lot Brawl

As far as parking lot brawls go I suppose it was one of the best, and pretty damn long. After John Cena surprised JBL by entering the backstage area in car and trying to run him over there were some legitimate physical spots, although the over the top attempted murder returned, with JBL setting a car that contained Cena on fire. At least this time people around tried to talk JBL out of it and bystanders came to Cena’s aid, putting out the fire. The battle continued with Cena placing JBL in another car and forklifting it out to the arena. After some back and forth and a teased FU attempt, JBL threw Cena off the stage in to the windshield of car for the victory. Both men were helped backstage.

- Text Poll results, the fans sympathize for Vickie:45% - Edge:55% (she’s still heel!)

- Triple H retained the WWE title after Edge was distracted. Alicia Fox came out trying to give Edge the title, when Vickie Guerrero absolutely waffled her with a clothesline. Vickie the tried to get Edge with the title but got caught up in a scuffle with the ref and Fox. For some reason Edge went to spear Alicia, missing and taking out Vickie! Triple H then won with the pedigree.

- Overall not a great show, nor a bad one - maybe there was too much interference. It just seemingly went through the motions. No surprise returns from Undertaker or William Regal as speculated
