Vince McMahon Gets Achievement Award & Another Employee Gets BMI Award
- Awards for people connected to the wrestling business seem to flying around all over the place just lately. WWE have once again won at the Promax/BDA Awards – the highest accolade for recognizing the best marketing/advertising methods, judged on creativity and production quality, (WWE is the king of production quality). WWE have won numerous awards at this ceremony before and thus this year Vince McMahon got the “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
It was held at the Grand Ballroom of Manhattan’s Hilton New York hotel and all the McMahon’s, including a heavily pregnant Stephanie were present. Upon winning Vince egotistically said “I deserve this.”
- In other award news WWE’s Director of Music, Jim Johnston won a BMI Award for his work with Monday Night Raw. Although a lot of WWE music is now licensed from production companies or proper bands Johnston composes and writes everything else you hear. According to a WWE.com article this is the seventh time that Johnston has been honored by his peers in the BMI, an organization representing more than 375,000 songwriters, composers, and publishers.
