Val Venis On Politics, The Rock Hosting Raw? McMahon’s Gay Comment

- Ron Paul supporter and former WWE star Val Venis was interviewed by Slam Wrestling and discussed some of his political views:

“’Freetarian’ is just a word that I came up with — I’m a Libertarian and very much pro-freedom and liberty, and pro limited government. Being someone who loves true freedom and liberty, I decided to use the first part of the word ‘freedom’ and combine that with the last part of Libertarian, to create my own word. At first it was just something funny I came up with, but it caught on.

“When I came out of high school, I guess you could say that I was a left-wing socialist, even if I wasn’t all that interested in politics at the time. I was taught in the public education system and you’re really only taught what the government wants you to be taught. For example, by the time that I came out of high school, I had already been taught to believe that Canada had the greatest health-care system in the world, and that we didn’t want the American style of health-care because they let people die on the gurneys if they don’t have the money or the insurance. But once I moved south, I was a little fearful at first, but when I bought my own insurance, I could go to any doctor I wanted, at any time I wanted, or I could go and see a specialist if I wanted. I could get an MRI the same day if I wanted. Soon I began to question everything that I’d been taught about the health-care system, and realized that I’d be lied to my entire time there, through the teaching in school and through the government-licensed media.

“That’s when I started and sit down and think about what else I’d been lied to about, and I started to study freedom and liberty, and it was like the gates of hell had opened up as I realized that all of it was corrupt. There isn’t one thing that a government does, that it doesn’t do through coercion, intimidation, and force. That’s incompatible with freedom, incompatible with liberty, and incompatible with what the founding fathers of our country wanted. The government can indoctrinate anything it wants into its citizenry. It’s a scary thought.

“So I’ve got three books about these subjects, which I’ve been working on for the last few years. I’d love to sit down and finish the first book, which really hammers the freedom and liberty aspect of all the important issues America and Canada are facing today. In the near future I’m going to be looking for a publishing house to pick that up, I’ll be updating my blog, and I’ll be doing some independent wrestling shows, maybe even over in Europe in the summer. I’ll be touring Japan again soon, and I also have a T-shirt store I’ve just opened — I love designing funny political T-shirts and things like that. As well as that, people were always asking me to put custom greetings on their cellphones, so I’ve started to do that for people as too. It’s kinda neat and a lot of fun.”

[Amen to that brother].

- For the record WWE have reached out to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson about hosting an upcoming Raw, but so far he hasn’t given them answer.

It’s kind of funny how Rock is now a bigger star than any of the guests Raw can get.

- It never ceases to amaze how Vince McMahon can put his foot in his mouth, whether speaking to the federal government or on his own “kid friendly show”.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLADD) are going after Vince for his Gay comment on Monday’s Raw, which of course also featured Big Dick Johnson.

“McMahon here wasn’t implying the performers were gay, however, he used the term in a derogatory manner. It’s just another example of how people throw around the word “gay” derisively. This came from the leader of a $500 million-plus organization who holds a lot of power in what he says and what he does. The WWE’s website states, “WWE is committed to family-friendly, PG content across all of its platforms including television programming, pay-per-view, digital media and publishing.” However, off-handedly using “gay” in a derogatory manner is anything but family-friendly. WWE programming reaches 16 million viewers each week. McMahon needs to understand that the words he uses and how he uses them can greatly affect people’s lives.”

  1. I’m not sure how you work out that Dwayne Johnson is a bigger start than any of the guest hosts. He’s not bigger than Mayweather, and if you threw out the name Dwayne Johnson, or even The Rock, against Seth Green, Johnson would lose.

  2. Val Venis, you’re dumb.

  3. If there is one superstar the WWE universe misses now more than anyone else be it stone cold steve austin ,hogan etc…it is The Rock..man this guy was that damn good..

  4. the rock is above the wwe right now, he’s one of the biggest names in hollywood. u have to understand why he retired from the wwe. if you were in his shoes you would all do the same. that being said, if by some miracle he does guest host raw it would only be cause wwe sent him a fat paycheck, and i do mean “fat”$$$$. he’s not going to wrestle, it would be a one night thing, and you probably wouldnt see him again until he’s inducted into the wwe hall of fame. rock and austin will never wrestle again, and i do not want to see hogan with his completely old and shot body in the ring again, cause that would be some slow brutal matches.

  5. The rock is better than the other guest hosts. There boring to me.

  6. If you think Val Venis is dumb then god help the country you live in.

  7. Vince, can say what ever he wants gay, fagot, and queer, are not curse words. Those people at Gladd are so gay.

  8. It’s the context – you don’t say “you straight bastard” so why would you say “you gay bastard”.

  9. “the rock is above the wwe right now, he’s one of the biggest names in hollywood.”

I don’t know where you’re getting these ideas from. If Hollywood was like the WWE, The Rock would be the equivalent of a jobber.

Seriously. He’s really not that big. Don’t let how big he is to the wrestling universe confuse you into thinking the rest of the world has any idea who he is. They don’t.

  10. This is why the world is so F’d up right now. Stupid people crying about stuff that some one else said on TV. Seriously GLADD, If you guys can take it up the butt, Maybe you guys should trying taking a joke once in awile!

    Don’t Test “The West”

  11. He’s bigger than Jeremy Piven

  12. Why doesn’t the wwe get John Cena to host RAW. Cena seems to think that he’s a bigger star than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

  13. The Rock is way more famous than any other star that has been on Raw thats why almost every movie he makes goes number 1

  14. wow, all the comments here about gay people are really fucked up.
it shows how bad is the level of wrestling today, the few fans left are just a bunch of retarded dumb rednecks. mcmahon should shoot himself, considering that he’s into guys.

  15. jobber you must be a fagot. The gay guys first line defense is to accuse a straight guy of being gay

  16. Why can’t gay people take a joke? Are you serious?

Do any of you have friends who are minorities? Try offering your black friends some watermelon or ask a Jewish friend to do your taxes. You would just be joking, right? Give it a try and see how it works out for you.

The world isn’t “f’ed up” because of groups like GLAAD – it’s fucked up because there are STILL people in this world that make them necessary.

We have freedom of speech (to an extent), but just because you CAN say something doesn’t mean you SHOULD. I am VIOLENTLY opposed to any kind of limits being set on free speech and, honestly, it pleases me when someone comes off with homophobic or racist ignorant bullshit. Why? It’s a neon sign that points out a person I want nothing to do with. It’s better to discover that someone is an asshole sooner rather than later (not that there have ever been any doubts about Vince McMahon).

P.S.(If Val Venis is “dumb”, I’m really curious as to who is smart.)

  17. where was GLAAD when Santino was pretending she was a girl and called herself a lesbian? Just another stupid group out there looking for attention

  18. O and R you need to know your role and shut your mouth and these comments have been from the jabroni beatin pie eat trail blazin eye brow raisin, the best in the present, future, and past if you don’t like it you can kiss the peoples ass now if you diss the rock again im going to take a microphone shine it up real nice turn that sumbitch sideways and stick straight up your candy ass if ya smelllllll what the rock is cookin
