Update On Raven Filing Lawsuit Against WWE Contracts
In an update to Raven and two other former WWE stars challenging WWE’s “Independent Contractors” employment status, the feeling is that WWE want to settle out of court as soon as possible. It all depends if the wrestler’s really want to go against the system, or if they want a pay day.
It’s a similar situation as when Brock Lesnar took WWE to court and tried to get out of his no compete clause. WWE gave him a huge out of court settlement in order for no legal precedent to be made. If the judge did rule on the case it would mean WWE would no longer be able to enforce their no compete clauses.
And in this case if the judge rules in favor of Raven then WWE’s contract system would have to be completely changed.
