TNA Releases BG James and Jim Cornette, Final Word On Linda, HHH News

- TNA have released long time TNA wrestler turned road agent BG James, aka DX’s Road Dogg. He is a close friend of Jeff Jarrett’s, but obviously Jeff is on the outs with Dixie Carter.

He is already seeking independent bookings.

Although there will always be rumors of a WWE return BG is definitely past his prime, and Hunter & Shawn have already expressed that they don’t want any new members or returning members of DX when creative recently pitched some ideas.

- In a rather annoying but unsurprising move move, Jim Cornette has also been released, which means the the company has even less people that actually know what “wrestling” is.

This cements earlier reports about Dixie Carter wanting to go “WWE-Hollywood” in her direction.

Expect some shoots from Cornette in the coming days. I’m surprised he kept his mouth shut this long.

- It’s final, Linda McMahon has stepped down as WWE CEO to run for US Senate under Connecticut! McMahon will be supported by the seasoned executive management team already in place and led by Chief Operating Officer and board member, Donna Goldsmith.

[Getting back-doored in to a position on the Board of Education is one thing, but running for Senate?]

- It seems the relationship between Floyd Mayweather and WWE continue to bolster as Triple H will accompany the boxer in his fight against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, this Saturday.

“It is an honor to walk the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world back into the ring. Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather has shown WWE tremendous support and it is my pleasure to return the favor this Saturday by standing at his side as he defeats Marquez in what I am sure will be boxing’s fight of the year.”

Mayweather has expressed interest in joining WWE after his boxing career ends.

  1. Mayweather in WWE, I need some time to think about this but it sounds interesting.

  2. not jim Cornette now whos going to write the scripts i would like to see tna pick up the old ecw owner cant remember his name right now.they need some good writers and forget kevin nash booker T and the old asses who think they are better than the sport itself would like to see more joe hernadez some newer faces get the belts same thing with wwe glad john morrison has a belt and kolfi kingston how about crime tyme honest these guys would really give a boost to the tag team champions could be a fued between them and legacy and big show and jerico on smackdown or another team on smackdown glad cm punk has the belt new face but what happens when edge comes back undertaker will have to win the belt so it can be edge against the undertaker christian as ecw champ is great but raw come how many times can we watch orton cena hhh matches how about the great kahli get a belt shot? i like mvp mark henery team matts going to need a good tag team partner like evan bourn or someone like that would like to see face agaianst face and heel against heel something different like evan bourn against kolfi kingston and john morrison against another high flier or morrison against the miz would be a good match too see

  3. Making room for Heyman, TNA, but I’m afraid that is JUST NOT going to happen. But hey, we can always dream right? Ahhhh

  4. would be interesting to see if cornette tries kissing vinces ass by bad mouthing tna and trying to get back to wwe, I’ve never liked cornette and as for bg that was coming after beautiful people departure, would be good too see a wwe return even though it’s highley doubtful

  5. oops got mxed up sorry thought they meant kip my mistake

  6. Now with all of the “Wrestling Writers” out of the way, they can go all the way Hollywood, maybe even giving Laraquett or whatever his name is another run at the title. Just what we need, ‘WWE Lite’. Half the wrestling as the original, with a third more bullshit!!!

  7. Arquett. I meant David Arquett.

  8. man mayweather might just be on Monday Night Raw because Marquez is going to be beat that mayete down.

  9. Well, Jim Cornette is very, very, old school, to the point of wanting to fine face and heel wrestlers if they’re seen out together, as he mentions on his website. If you were to run a university course on wrestling, he could happily be a professor, but he’s not really one for modernity. The last two Impacts have been amazing, so I hope they stay in this direction.

Interesting note about “Road Dogg” BG James. Obviously it’s a hideous move for DX to bring in no new members, and then complain about talent not getting over. But why is he immediately going back to wrestling again, when he has been effectively engaged in a managerial/backstage role for TNA? Surely that’s a pretty decent boost to the CV?

Is this kind of thing known as the “Randy “The Ram” Robinson” effect yet, because it should be.

  10. TNA doesn’t need to go that route. In my opinion, they should proceed to capitalize on what they already possess even further. Which happens to be wrestling. I’m sure everyone(except kids) would like to have different varieties of wrestling; For example, SmackDown is good because it takes itself more seriously than Raw. Not to mention wrestling is better. I can’t outkast Raw though for the simple fact that it is what it is meant to be and that is ‘entertainment’.
They’re all great shows, but they should always have something different to offer.

  11. I can see the TNA UK ratings start to slip already.

  12. If Dixie Carter would let go of Vince’s coat tails, she would see that she doesn’t need to switch things up so much. Vince, even though he wouldn’t say so in public, recognizes TNA wrestling. The proof is of him dipping into the ROH wrestling pool. TNA has a lot of pure wrestlers, WWE has a lot of entertainers. Vince wants more pure wrestlers. TNA only needs to establish their pure wrestlers into top Superstars. TNA also needs to stop recruiting old WWE superstars and start picking up ROH talent, before WWE steals them all.
TNA also needs to build their organization around YOUNG TALENT. And with said young talent, establish themselves as a fresh, exciting alternate to WWE’s entertainment first style.
TNA desperately needs to PUSH AJ, SAMOA and others. Not over the hill stars like Angle, Booker, Nash and Steiner. They had their fifteen minutes. Those guys are now irrelevant. Time to look to the future.
TNA needs to stop trying to follow WWE’s blueprint, and develop their own identity.
That’s the only way they’re going to excel in this business. But, I know Dixie Carter will do the opposite and try to follow Vince. And ultimately, that’s the reason TNA will always FAIL.

  13. This cements earlier reports about Dixie Carter wanting to go “WWE-Hollywood” in her direction.
