TNA News: Impact Rating, Devon Injury Update, Canadian PPV Announced

- Brother Devon’s ankle injury which he sustained during the Victory Road PPV this past Sunday is not as bad as first thought. He’s already wrestled at the TV taping, although he took the night off on the first show which aired on Thursday.

- Thursday’s Impact on Spike TV drew a 1.1 cable rating, although it was rounded up from a 1.05 true rating. Of course this is within their usual fluctuations.

- TNA have now officially announced that their September 14, No Surrender PPV will be held outside of the US, a first for the company. Here is the press release:

Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling announced today that “No Surrender 2008” will be held live at the General Motors Centre in Oshawa, Ontario, on Sunday, September 14, starting at 8 p.m. ET, and will air worldwide exclusively on pay-per-view.

“No Surrender” will be TNA’s first-ever pay-per-view event outside of the United States. The General Motors Centre played host to a sold-out TNA Wrestling Live! show in December 2007, and also serves as the new home of the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

“We’re thrilled to be taking “No Surrender 2008” to Canada,” said TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter. “When TNA visited Oshawa late last year, the show was amazing with an electric atmosphere. Canada has always been a cornerstone of professional wrestling, from its in-ring legends and new talent to its passionate fans. We expect ‘No Surrender’ to be unforgettable.”
