The Heel Report – Week 12
As a fan I have always been naturally drawn to cheering for heels and booing faces, now maybe I have the WWE backwards but it just seems to me that heels are far more entertaining to watch, so I have decided to showcase the heels of the WWE in all their cheating and underhanded glory with this weekly heel report.
This week’s top ten:
1st Place: Chris Jericho
Another week at the top for Jericho, despite losing both his matches Y2J continues to prove that he deserves all his extra airtime since he uses it to work the crowd up into such a frenzy that they will even cheer for a no talent like Henry as long as he is trying to crush Jericho with his meaty paws. (10/10 points)
2nd Place: C.M. Punk
The unyielding World Champion keeps his spot with a tirade of moral lessons to less than appreciative crowd. Actions like this will guarantee the Straight-Edge champion a long and happy life on the chart. Walking out on Hardy in disgust when he came out was an especially nice touch. (9/10 points)
3rd Place: Dolph Ziggler
A grand total of eight points are awarded to the platinum playboy this week as he continues his momentum onto Night of Champions. An interesting assist from Maria hints at an on-going storyline that could see Ziggler safe from the creative chopping block for a long while. Now if only the WWE would give his finisher a decent name. (8/10 points)
4th place: Randy Orton
A crafty Viper manages to slither his way into fourth place in an attempt to reclaim his top position on the heel chart. The Legend Killer has a small way to go but with a win at Night of Champions the current WWE champion might be able to shake off the major face shadows of Triple H and John Cena and actually get some new competition that could make his heel stock rise. (7/10 points)
5th Place: William Regal
Mid-chart for the trail-blazing Brit. Pulling double duty suited the new addition to the ECW roster and along with Benjamin might possibly be a main event player in the land of extreme. All I can say is it’s about time, William Regal; ECW champion has a nice ring to it. (6/10 points)
6th Place: Abraham Washington
This guy is getting legitimate heat and after awhile that starts to get you places on the heel chart, as can be seen by his place this week. The only question is; what will this guy do when he doesn’t have Tommy Dreamer to insult? (5/10 points)
7th Place: Kane
The Big Red Machine or the big yellow chicken, you decide. The real question though is whether this new side of Kane is gaining him legitimate heat or if it is just making the crowds opinion of him fall further until he will finally drop off the WWE radar, legacy in taters. To be honest until he came back I hadn’t even noticed Kane had left. (4/10 points)
8th Place: The Brian Kendrick
A failure to launch secures Kendrick’s place as a jobber on Raw, but at least his challenging Lawler earns him a place on the chart this week. Who knows when he will get to appear again, hopefully soon if he calls Lillian ‘toots’ again. (3/10 points)
9th Place: The Big Show
A dominant giant makes a statement this week with an amazing display of force. The combination of him and Kingston is amazing and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone picked up from the floor to the ring like that in my life. Will this dominance finally land The Big Show some WWE gold? (2/10 points)
10th Place: Maryse
A nice little hairspray stunt after an assist from The Miz gets Maryse into the chart this week. Can she overcome a serious challenger in Mickie James, or has all her bravado been in vain? Whatever the case she will still be the sexiest diva on Monday nights. (1/10 points)
Overall top ten:
* 1st Place – Chris Jericho: 111/120
*2nd Place – Dolph Ziggler: 72/120
*3rd Place – Edge: 69/120
*4th Place – Randy Orton: 68/120
*5th Place – The Miz: 64/120
*6th Place – Jack Swagger: 57/120
*7th Place – C.M. Punk: 36/120
*8th Place – The Big Show: 19/120
*9th Place – Zach Ryder: 17/120
*10th Place – Maryse: 17/120
Weekly Filler:
The Face-Off: Ask the Divas
Wow, simply wow. You have less than an hour for a show and what do you do? Add in a completely pointless segment that advances neither show nor plot line. Why this was thought to be a good idea is simply stunning to me. Let’s hope it was just a onetime thing and won’t surface again next week.
Face the Facts: The team of Swagger, Show & Carlito
This one goes out to the match bookers on Raw as the six-man tag, I thought at least, was an amazing teaming that I could watch play out again and again and I believe there would be a completely different match every time. The three contrasting styles of these superstars’ just makes for unlimited tag team combinations, shame there is no real reason to team them together again.
On the Rise: The Big Show
A big push for The Big Show on Raw shows that the giant is going nowhere, turning on Swagger was a great move and the stunning lift of Kingston is just one of those moments that you have to watch over and over again just to make sure it was real.
Flat-Footed: The Brian Kendrick
I feel sorry for the guy, he has always been one of my favourites, even as Spanky on Smackdown all those years ago, but I think losing to the King this week was the final nail in the coffin. It’s a real shame since I don’t think Kendrick would have done that bad as Jericho’s tag team partner. I’m not really sure why they had Kendrick lose to Lawler since it doesn’t seem to help anyone but as per usual the WWE’s actions are hard to justify with logic.
It’s a shame but I write this week with a little bias since I caught a small amount of the results for Night of Champions and I know the fiasco that was Jericho’s tag team partner. That seems to me to be the biggest waste of a great opportunity I have seen in a long time. But more about that next week, as for now I will bring the report to a close asking whether The Big Show will take Jericho down or raise him to new heights of heeldom. Come back next week to see exactly what went down in the heel world at and after Night of Champions. This is James Wright signing off.

hope he comes face again soon..
…yes, me too. What?
