Spin Cycle To Spike TV? TNA/CMLL Realtionship, Is Kurt The Only Olympian?
- In recent media appearances Jeremy Borash has made it clear that his primary goal with TNA’s online series “the Spin Cycle” is to get it on a half hour run on Spike TV, as a supplement to Impact. In an interview with the Mouthpiece Wrestling Show he said he’d ideally like it to air directly after the Thursday night Impact time slot. Spike have shown interest in extra programming, although thus far ideas such as a Knockouts only show haven’t come to fruition.
- TNA still has an active relationship with Mexican promotion CMLL, so it is likely more stars will be traded back and forth. This doesn’t necessarily mean it will play out on TV or PPV and could be just a way to get the younger guys overseas experience.
- There is a very interesting article in this month’s Fighting Spirit Magazine. For those thinking Kurt Angle is the only Olympian to perform in wrestling, then you’re wrong. In fact Pro Wrestlers have racked up a total of 9 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals over the years, in a range of different sports, including Boxing, Freestyle Wrestling, Greco-Roman Wrestling, Judo and Weightlifting. Kurt Angle is the most recent to hit fame in the US though, with the rest being legendary names from the past or Japan.
