RVD Radio Tonight, New Wrestling Documentary, Latest Jim Ross
- Former WWE star and ECW original Rob Van Dam is launching his new radio show tonight at 10:00 ET. Joining Van Dam for the show’s kick-off will be former WWE star Chris “The Masterpiece” Masters and former WWE and World Championship Wrestling star Shawn “Meat” Stasiak. The trio will discuss individualism, censorship and pro wrestling, as well as take calls from listeners. Visit www.blogtalkradio.com/rvdradio for more details.
- A new wrestling documentary is in the works surrounding the life of Bruno Sammartino, entitled “In the Ring Of Honor: The Bruno Sammartino Story.”
Filmmaker Sandro Finamore commented “My father always told me to root for Bruno. He came from the same region in Italy, Abruzzi, as my father.”
Sammartino, known as “The Original Italian Stallion” and “The Living Legend,” wrestled from 1959 to the 1980s. He was World Wide Wrestling Federation champion for 11 years.
- Jim Ross is back with another JRSBARBQ.com blog. Here are the wrestling highlights:
On Y2J and HBK:
“How mentally and physically tough are Chris Jericho and HBK? Damn tough. After Sunday’s Ladder Match, these two were deeply involved in Monday’s Raw. In the old Turner WCW, several stars would have been absent from Nitro the night after a physical PPV match.”
On Hardy and Triple H:
“HHH-Jeff Hardy had a great wrestling bout at No Mercy…one of the I have had the privilege of calling in years. Both men came out of the match the better. Awesome counters and classic strategy.”
Honky Tonk Man?
“My vote to oppose Santino Marella at Cyber Sunday is the Honky Tonk Man. The King’s estranged first cousin can still entertain and can hang with the reigning IC Champion.”
On The Big Show:
“HHH vs. The Big Show on Friday Night Smackdown should be a big time main event. What is GM Vickie Guerrero’s “relationship” with Show? Isn’t Vickie still married to Edge? Sounds like an episode of “As the World Turns.” Stay tuned.”
