RVD Gone Already, Christian’s Return Plans? Rourke Update, Randy Orton
- RVD’s surprise appearance in the WWE Royal Rumble match on Sunday was a one time deal, and he is not back under WWE contract, despite the huge pop from the fans. It was simply a case of bringing in a nice surprise to add to the excitement.
- As I predicted on the forum, it was in fact Matt Hardy that turned on Jeff Hardy and not the returning Christian Cage. As sometimes happens, WWE management either changed their mind with Christian’s involvement (things are never set in stone), or “sources” deliberately let out a red herring to the internet so we could be legitimately surprised. This doesn’t mean Christian isn’t still involved in the storyline. We may now end up seeing a brother vs brother match at Wrestlemania.
For those that think Kayfabe is dead just check out both Hardy boys Myspace pages. Matt has heat!
- Its now blindingly obvious why Vince McMahon is now jumping all over Mickey Rourke for an appearance at Wrestlemania. The sheer mention of it has been picked up a lot of major entertainment media outlets. WWE always looks to bring in outside celebrities for the mega event, and who better than Mickey Rourke? Although it is not 100% confirmed, the plan is now for Rourke to actually wrestle Chris Jericho!
Bringing in “Money” Mayweather brought in a lot of attention, but he’s a boxer. Rourke is targeted for wrestling fans and people who saw the movie.
All that remains now is to get R-Truth back on TV and actually push the guy for appearing in the film!
- Paul Heyman particularly praised Randy Orton during his recent TheSun.co.uk blog, writing “Orton’s control of the mic was masterful. Just six months ago, Orton couldn’t compete with Adam ‘Edge’ Copeland for the bragging rights of being the best performer in WWE because Edge’s mic work was far superior to Orton’s. But on this night, on this edition of Monday Night Raw, Orton showcased his extraordinary progress. Orton delivered his lines with conviction, confidence, and malice. The beating he gave the Chairman was believable, and the confusion he showed after “the punt heard round the world” was perfectly acted. Orton played this scenario better than even Shawn Michaels could have. Vince McMahon may have given Randy Orton the chance, but Orton clearly ran with the opportunity and scored huge.”

why are they not keeping rvd??? the people of ecw & philly demand it!!!!!!
Its more RVD’s decision than theirs. They’d love to have him back, but he’s enjoying his time away with his wife.
