THIS DVD WILL BE THE DVD OF THE YEAR
Too many key-people in the story of WCW have opted not to take part in this DVD so actually I think chances are it will suck badly. I mean, Bischoff’s not in it – come on!
What they showed there wasn’t really WCW, it was NWA. In my opinion there is a huge difference.
in my opinion if the dvd doesnt concetrate on some wcw stuff that should been concetraing on the dvd will be wrothless like the icon sting major nwo espeacialy eric beshouff goldberg and all the huge stars that help growing wcw because as we know wcw started to domnate the wrestling world in the early 90’s and it continued but at some point wwe has crushed it with the wwf attitude era wich has led to the fall of wcw
First of all, you can’t tell the story of WCW without first telling the story of the NWA/Mid-Atlantic/Georgia. WCW didn’t just pop out of an abyss fully formed. To focus ENTIRELY on the last 5-6 years of the company would be absurd.
The initials WCW had been around for YEARS before Bill friggin’ Goldberg or even Eric Bischoff came on the scene. WCW originated from Ole Anderson, not Ted Turner. There’s a rich and storied tradition behind WCW that deserves more than a passing mention (although that’s what it’s getting. There are a total of 5 pre-Turner chapters out of 23. The listing is out there).
Second: How many times has Eric Bischoff been interviewed in front of WWE cameras regarding WCW? Am I the only one who ever saw him discuss this? So the footage will be a few years old…big f’ing deal. It’s not like there have been any new developments in the story since then.
They should make a whole NWA DVD!
Its interesting in seeing the previous post. I agree there should be an NWA DVD as well! I wonder how much quality time will be spent in discussing the orginization before it actualy became WCW on this upcoming DVD set.
I am wondering if the WWE chose to focus mainly on WCW instead of the NWA solely for the purpose of showing how they were able to take down the company and prove that they were/are the “superior” brand of the two? I mean just look at the title of the DVD. I am not saying that this is the only reason for the DVD being released. But hey, would you really put this past McMahon’s own arrogance and ego? I am still hoping that the WWE will give the story behind this DVD the full respect and accuracy it deserves.
I really cant wait for this DVD, have actually waited for years. I just hope they do a massive piece of the 90’s WCW, otherwise its a waste of time. Lets just hope they do it right.
I hope the documentary is as long and involving as the ECW one was.
well, theyre way off on the release date, so i find it hard to believe anything any one says on this site as far as the wcw dvd goes. according to the caption below the video, it comes out november 13th but everyone else knows it comes out at the end of this month(august) also if you look at the info on wwe’s website about the set, bischoff is interiewed quite extensivly through out the documentary portion of it and there is alot on nwa and jim crocket promotions. why do you lot find it soimportant to bash a piece of the wwe home video library that hasnt even come out yet? are your lives that empty?
