Remember Zeus? Trish On Victoria’s Retirement, The Wrestler Book?
- Actor and former pro wrestler Tommy “Tiny” (Zeus/Z Gangsta) Lister will be on VH1’s Sober House reality show next week, having an argument during a barbecue. Lister is obviously famous for being Zeus, fighting Hogan in the WWF and WCW, but he also had a good run on the Friday movies.
- Former WWE Diva Trish Stratus posted the following on her WWE Universe blog in regards to the retirement of Victoria. You can’t argue with these comments:
“Her departure was the last of a group of women who collectively raised the bar in women’s wrestling. A time when of the core players that made up the women’s roster, 9 of them were champions, 6 of them becoming champion for the first time, second time, etc. During that time we saw the introduction of new characters and the reinvention of others, good guys and bad, each offering something different than the other – a flavor for everyone.”
- As is quite common these days, there will be book release containing the script for the movie The Wrestler. The blurb reads:
“Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler is an insightful behind-the-scenes meditation on the film’s provocative characters and the choices they make. Once a hugely successful WWF wrestler, Randy the Ram now ekes out a living performing for diehard wrestling fans from the 1980s in high school gyms and community centers around New Jersey. But when he suffers a heart attack, Randy’s doctor tells him he needs to lay off the steroids and stop wrestling altogether. Forced out of show business, Randy begins to evaluate the state of his life. But the pull of the spotlight is too strong and he attempts once again to find his way back into the ring. Featuring actors Mickey Rourke, Academy award–winning Marisa Tomei, and Evan Rachel Wood, this book is an extension of Aronofsky’s filmic vision, and will contain film stills, the original shooting script, still photos, original art, and observations by its creators, cast, and crew.”
It is scheduled for an April release.
