Ratings News, Sky Airing Superstars, The Rock Back To WWE? Police Suspend Khali, More JR

- Last week’s episode of WWE Smackdown on MyNetworkTV drew a 2.0 broadcast rating.

This week’s ECW on Syfy drew a 1.1 cable rating.

Impact this week on Spike TV drew also drew a 1.1 cable rating.

- WWE has renewed their deal with Sky in the UK. They have also added WWE Superstars, which will begin airing on SKY 1, Friday December 11th at 5pm.

- From IGN.com:
We all heard The Rock on the Decade of Smackdown scream out about a possible RAW hosting gig in the future, but now it seems as though “The Great One” Dwayne Johnson and the WWE might be working together on a separate TV project as well.

On the Jack Diamond Show, a syndicated radio program, Johnson didn’t reveal full details about the new venture, but he did say it would be “significant.”

“I love that world and being able to entertain, especially if I could go back whether it’s on Smackdown and do a promo or guest-host or we could create this cool show, whatever that may be,” Johnson stated. “Especially now, I’m at the point where I can go back and give back to the fans and help out the guys in any way I can.”

Johnson went on to say that he and Vince had a great relationship right now and that they were trying to put together something cool and interesting. “I’m in the process of creating something really cool for the fans – something very special and unique,” Johnson said. “It will be something like one big entertaining show.”

[Considering WWE have been branching out in to movies and have plans for other entertainment ventures, it seems The Rock might be signing a none wrestling deal. There has also been talk of a WWE-only channel, but that doesn't mean just wrestling. Are we getting a Rocky talk show?]

- The Punjabi Police Department has suspended WWE’s Great Khali from his honorary position on the force for taking too much leave. He was actually on the force before his wrestling career, but was never let go.

- Jim Ross is back with another JRSBARBQ.com blog post; here are the wrestling highlights:

On His Return:
“When talking with Jerry about when I was going to return, I mentioned that there was NO time table due to not knowing when the facial nerve on the right side of my face was going to kick start. I mentioned that IF it was going to be close to Wrestlemania that it might be good just to wait and return at WM26. The facial nerve could ignite tomorow…or next week…or 2-4 months from now. No one knows. The last time that I had Bells palsy it hit me in December and I returned to Wrestlemania in late March and broadcast one match, Austin vs. The Rock but I had to hold one side of my face up to speak clearly. This attack isn’t as severe as that one in my opinion. My contract negotiations with WWE are still to be finalized but, as I feel in all things regarding my life. I remain confident and positive that those contractual issues will work out to every one’s satisfaction.”

On Kofi Kingston:
“Kofi Kingston was the star of Monday Night Raw from MSG and Kofi not coming off as so happy go lucky and showing the aggression it takes to turn heads is what he needs to continue to do. Kofi is close to residing in the Promised Land and a great night at the Survivor Series and the following night on the three hour Raw could help cement that ascension.”

On The Announcers:
“The announcing assignments for Sunday interest me as well as there could be multiple voices on multiple matches which, for a broadcaster, is always a challenge. I’m sure the guys will do just fine nonetheless.”
