Poll Results: Was Jim Ross Right To Be Upset About Being Drafted?
The hot story a few weeks ago after the annual WWE draft lottery was that lead Raw announcer Jim Ross, the true voice of Monday Night Raw was drafted over to Smackdown and wasn’t happy about it. He looked visibly upset on air, as he was not told ahead of time that he’d be switching with Michael Cole and in a blog afterwards voiced his anger on the situation. A day later after having a meeting with Vince McMahon and the time to let it sink in, JR changed his tune and vowed to make Smackdown “kick ass.”
In WrestlingTruth.com’s latest poll we asked you the fans – “Was Jim Ross Right To Be Upset About Being Drafted To Smackdown?”
78% of you thought he was right in some degree, many of you stressing that JR is simply Raw and should stay put in your comments. The remaining 22% of thought he was wrong to be upset.
I personally don’t see any problems with JR moving brands. He is after all an employee, but on the same token I think it was disrespectful and plain wrong that they didn’t inform him ahead of time. That would never happen in a scenario outside the crazy world of WWE.
Here’s how the poll went:
No he’s a WWE employee and should go where they tell him without a fuss: 13%
No, stop being a cry baby and get on with it: 9%
Yes, he’s the voice of Raw, the show will never be the same again: 49%
Yes, but only because he should have been told ahead of time: 29%
Whether it was JR joining Mick Foley or Rey Mysterio moving to Raw, the post draft aftermath has certainly made for some fresh WWE TV. Our next poll asks, How Long Will WWE Keep Faith In CM Punk As Champion?
I look forward to your votes and comments.
