Paul London and Chuck Palumbo Released

As part of WWE’s cost cutting measures following their poor Third Quarter Earnings, Raw wrestlers Paul London and Chuck Palumbo have been released. WWE.com stated:

“World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Superstars Paul London and Chuck Palumbo as of Nov. 7, 2008. WWE wishes them the best in all future endeavors.”

Paul London hasn’t been used since his partner Brian Kendrick was moved to Smackdown. He fell out of favor with management after his relationship with Ashley Massaro and has been in the doghouse ever since. He never really had any supporters and was known for being outspoken and sometimes difficult. Its a shame considering his talent.

Chuck Palumbo hasn’t been used since being moved to Raw. In his case he simply didn’t have enough friends politically and the creative team just “had nothing for him.” Things would have been a lot different if he remained on Smackdown.

Palumbo has already sent out feelers to Mexico and Japan about getting wrestling bookings, seeing the writing on the wall before he was officially cut.

For the record neither men failed any Wellness Tests nor caused any incident backstage before getting fired.

  1. That actually took a lot longer than I was expecting. For both of them.

  2. awwwww. dude not cool! Paul London was only second to Rey mysterio in the cruiserweight division. chuck sucked as a wrestler so i can understand if they released him. it also bites that the wwe has released super crazy.

  3. I also think that it is ashamed they released Paul London i was actually a fan of him and Brian(which I am no longer a fan)and actually saw them live it’s really ashame i also agree that they should’ve only fired Chuck since he did suck and it’s also a shame they release super crazy which i also saw they should let go of divas such as Michelle and the new ones or not create the diva search instead of firing good wrestler such as Paul London.
