I found this article not only entertaining, but really pretty enlightening… There are a lot similarities between the wrestling world and the world of politics, and Obama and Hogan as well…
Pretty damn slick to make the comparison, and I look foward to more smart writing on this web-site. I’ve just recently stumbled on it, and plan to keep coming back.

I saw ‘Jesus Camp’, scared the crap out of me! Thank you Kyle B for confirming that New Zealand doesn’t really have any religious problems (except for maybe Prespertarians?). Ever since I watched ‘Flight of the Conchords’ I have been wondering about New Zealand since they never really make too much fun of religion, like it’s not a big issue to them. Even here in England there is usually a divide, no where near as much as in America but still something I would like to escape.

I think I’ll book a one way ticket to New Zealand some time soon, and I’ll bring my mum!

Interesting point of view. I’m Australian, so I wasn’t able to vote for Obama, but I love him and think he’s great. He represents “change” and a new era in time. While I do agree that obviously he has help from a large team of people, not just for policy making but for building his image and fan base, I think he does mean well and genuinely wants to make a difference. If we apply your theory to everything and everyone in the world, we are all projecting a certain image of ourselves onto the world that might not neccessarily be our true selves. How many times have you wanted to scream at a friend, family member or colleague for something they did but don’t in the interested of protecting the relationship and saving face? Or how many times have you gone above and beyond your regular grooming/dressing/going out in public routine for a date or job interview? My point is that someone’s always grooming someone else to succeed and be liked in this world, and Barack Obama/WWE Superstars are no exception!

AIC- when The History Channel can prove the Bible is wrong, then come talk to me. Anyone can say anything and make it “prove” their views if they are the only ones talking on the show. Scientists can only fill-in-the-blanks with their own personal beliefs and many have proven the Bible’s truths.
Kyle- as you can see, YES religion is a big thing in America for various reasons. First of all, we are a supposedly Christian nation that believes in the one true God. Secondly, we are the world’s melting pot, welcoming people from all walks of life and beliefs with open arms(as long as you come here thru LEGAL channels!). This makes for an interesting challenge! I personally don’t like it being called “religion”, since there are SO many to choose from. It is more someone’s spiritual beliefs and how sad there are countries where it “means nothing”. But, I guess as long as you are free to practice what you believe in, it works out well.
This was truly THE best article I have read on this sight!

I’ve been telling friends and family for a while now that Obama winning the election felt a little too perfect after 8 years with dipshit and the people with their hands up his ass making him talk. Almost stage-managed, if you will.

It’s also raised my home country’s image around the world. Every taxi driver who takes me to work says, “Obama hao! Meiguo hao!” (”Obama is good! America is good!”).

Yes, the fix is in. Once you discover that, it’s like swallowing the pill in “The Matrix”…only there is really nothing you can do about it other than try not to contribute to it any more than you have to. You also can never un-see it. The bliss of ignorance is gone forever.

To answer Kyle B.’s question and your comment on religion in America…yes, it’s big but more and more people are becoming disillusioned with it every day. Especially Christianity. I’ve started calling History Channel and National Geographic channel “The Why The Bible is Bullshit Channels. Seems like they have a show disproving Christianity every night of the week (or at least it did before I left in 2005 and when I was home on vacation a couple months ago).

Check out the movie “Jesus Camp” if you get a chance. You can see what the more extreme members of the Evangelical Christian movement are up to. It’s scarier than any horror movie you have ever seen.

Religion is a huge thing in the US. I’m from the UK but it’s quite obvious. You’ll find every religion and cult going.

Sweet! I can’t wait to read it, too. Lol I still have Ventura’s bumpersticker somewhere around here from when he was campaigning for governor here in Minnesota that says “My Govenrnor Can Beat Up Your Governor”. I never got around to getting his Governor Doll lol. But anyways, you really did a great job in writing the article. Nice to find another truth seeker.
