NXT Breaks Copyright? Finkel Rips Savannah, Spike TV Exec Speaks, Hart Meets With TNA
- Thanks to Steve Wilson:
There is already a NXT wrestling company, which also stands for NXT Generation.
Their website can be viewed via http://www.nxtwrestling.com/ According to their site they have been around since 2008. The indy fed is based in Rutherglen, Scotland. They have their own wrestling school, produce DVD’s and run shows on a fairly regular basis. The next show is scheduled to be this Saturday February 6th. Apparently someone at the WWE didn’t do their homework, or (more likely) they don’t care.
- Legendary WWE ring announcer Howard Finkel had some home truths for rookie ring announcer Angela “Savannah” Fong, when on the WWE Universe webchat:
“Did anyone catch Savannah’s two goofs last night announcing Ezekiel Jackson? Well, she did not announce Zeke as the challenger; furthermore, she announced him as weighing 209 pounds. Folks, I might be a little tough on the announcers, but let’s face it… You are on a WWE PPV, you DO NOT screw up.”
- Thanks to Scott Beeby:
“Adam Testa from The Wrestling Daily recently had the chance to speak with SpikeTV Executive Dave Schwarz about the relationship with TNA and what the future holds for both parties. http://thewrestlingdaily.com/?p=8695
“I think this year is the year TNA is really breaking out. As Dixie said, (WWE Chairman) Vince (McMahon) had better take notice, and I think he has,” Schwarz said. “No matter what the future holds, the real winners are the wrestling fans.”
- Bret Hart had an informal meal with several TNA stars and officials at Bailey’s in Nashville after his appearance on Raw this Monday. It is thought to be a social thing.
