WWE Raw, November 10, 2008 results from Manchester England, UK.

Before the show I was lucky enough to meet Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler! He stopped to shake hands with the 10-15 people that were there and shook hands and posed for pics from us ALL. He was a real class act! I’ll send them to Kee later in the week to see if he’s able to put them on the site somewhere.

Dark Match – Rowdy Charlie Piper beat Snitsky. Snitsky really got the crowd going by mouthing off and really played the heel well.

RAW matches:

William Regal won the IC title from Santino in a shock 1 minute match! No-one was expecting Regal to win it, and certainly not in such quick time!

Mike Knox won in another really short match up over D’Lo Brown who looks a shadow of his former self. I think he’s the new Val Venus and will never win on TV.

Rey Mysterio pinned Kane in a no DQ match. Was a little disappointing as no weapons were used expect the ‘concrete’ floor and the exposed turnbuckles.

The Batista -v- Randy Orton match was interrupted before it began by Cody Rhodes & Manu, with Rhodes replacing Orton to everyones disappointment and losing to Batista. Before the match Cody Rhodes slapped Randy Orton in the face in his locker room!

Mickie James lost to Beth Pheonix in a womens title match after Santino interfered.

HBK and Y2J had an excellent Last Man Standing match with HBK putting Jericho through the announce table. HBK came off the ladder to do this

However, JBL would interrupt and in the end cost HBK the match up after a vicious chair shot.

After Raw went off air:

JBL came back out and pummeled HBK, shouting that he wouldn’t make it to Survivor Series. It had earlier been announced that Team JBL would face Team HBK in the traditional Survivor Series match. I expect Miz & Morrison to join JBL’s team with Cryme Tyme joining HBK. But HBK had the final word as he delivered Sweet Chin Music to JBL to leave him down and out!

Biggest Cheer:
Charlie Hass was the biggest – but only when we all thought that Roddy Piper was actually coming out!

Randy Orton (mainly over 21’s and the kids seemed confused by this to my amusement!)
Regal when he had won the IC belt
JBL – but only when he was after a crowd member to give £1000 to! (Cryme Tyme later stole his cash and threw it into the crowd)
Santino got a very good reception, but again this is only what I could hear from where I was sat in Block A.

Worst Reception:
Batista got booed and seemed annoyed as the ‘RKO’ chant was done as he squared off to Orton. Batista looked genuinely annoyed with the sections of the crowd that booed him – make of that what you want. I like Batista myself but think Orton is alot better! (IMO)
Kane was booed but the under 16’s boo anyone who goes up against Mysterio.

Any John Cena video got loudly booed but may not come over on the live show on Sky Sports.

I have to say that close up Beth Pheonix looked a lot hotter than Mickie James! It was a shame that I didn’t see Candice Michelle though.

In all it was a good night. It was a treat to see 3 titles on the line. As it happens, every time I’ve attended Monday Night Raw I’ve seen the IC belt change hands! I’ll e-mail that to the challenger next year and see if he’ll pay for my ticket!!!
