No Mercy Poster, Smackdown Edited, Heyman On Flair, Kofi Speaks

- The opening segment that appeared on WWE Smackdown last night was not shot live to the audience at the taping and was actually filmed before any fans got to the arena. The crowd shots that you saw on TV were edited in. That’s the power of post production right there. Luckily there were no Undertaker lighting bolts, which strangely never happened live at the arena.

- Here is the WWE No Mercy promotional PPV poster. Yes Jeff Hardy is upside down…

- Paul Heyman had the following to say about the Ric Flair situation on his UK Sun Newspaper column:

“It’s sad to see Flair advertised for some low rent wrestling shows at this stage of his life, He should really be above that. I don’t know what his take will be in 12 months, but unless it’s significantly above the half million dollars he was making from Vince McMahon, I just don’t understand what he’s trying to accomplish.”

“I’m not saying Flair shouldn’t take advantage of his earning potential right now. And I hope he makes millions in whatever he does. But seeing him in these ads for every rinky dink out there just makes him look ancient instead of being relevant, which he still can be.”

- In a recent interview with the Miami Herald, former IC Champ Kofi Kingston revealed that Ricky Steamboat is an inspiration to him:

”I absolutely talk to Ricky Steamboat in the back,” Kingston said. “There are lots of people in the back who were wrestlers back in the day, and you’d be a fool not to pick their brains. They’ve forgotten more stuff than I’ll ever know. I always try to go and pick everybody’s brain.

Ricky Steamboat is kind of the person who I strive to be because he is one of the greatest of all time. He’s up there weekly, consistently, helping wrestlers out, giving people advice. So I always talked to him before and after my matches to see what he thought and what I could do to improve. He is always very helpful.”
