Vince McMahon and those within WWE are still under the belief that Mickey Rourke will still be at Wrestlemania, despite a press release from the star’s publicist debunking the fact. Rourke has commented in several interviews that he’ll be there, and his appearance with Chris Jericho on Larry King would’ve been a pre-agreed appearance. It wouldn’t have gone ahead without at least a verbal deal in place between Rourke and WWE.

It is highly likely that Rourke’s representatives are playing down the rumor so that his Academy Award isn’t in jeopardy. For those with little knowledge of the film industry, the arty farty, pretentious wankers that make up the board of voters would balk at Rourke appearing at a trailer trash event like Wrestlemania, voting him down because of it.

So everything will likely be kept quiet, until the Awards are over.
