Quick Results:
- Mike Knox defeated R-Truth.
- Michelle McCool (with Alicia Fox) defeated Gail Kim.
- John Morrison defeated Charlie Haas (with Shelton Benjamin).
- CM Punk defeated Edge by count out.
- Eve defeats Layla in an Arm Wrestle.
- Khali defeats Dolph Ziggler via DQ.
- Jeff Hardy defeated Chris Jericho.

Full Report:

- The show kicked off from Pittsburgh, PA, with Teddy Long introducing Rey Mysterio back to Smackdown. Rey said that he’s now back home. He brought up his friend Jeff Hardy and said the best man won on Raw to get the title shot against Edge at Judgment Day.

Chris Jericho comes down and demands and IC title shot, and a scuffle breaks out. Jeff Hardy comes down and says if Jericho wants a shot at anything he’ll have to go through him.

The segment ends with a match announced. Jericho will take on Hardy tonight, and if he wins he’ll be added to the Judgment Day World title match.

- Mike Knox defeats R-Truth:
It wasn’t a complete squash but Mike Knox got the quick win on R-Truth with his finishing move.

- Michelle McCool (with Alicia Fox) defeats Gail Kim:
Short, but solid women’s match. Gail Kim still needs to find herself amongst the new WWE style. It seems Alicia has just been thrown with McCool because of the draft.

- John Morrison defeats Charlie Haas (with Shelton Benjamin):
Haas seems to have came out of jobersville with a strong outing here. He ultimately lost the match, but was given enough to shine this week. Interestingly he came out with his former partner Shelton Benjamin, who sat ringside but did not interfere. He was scouting Morrison.

- Edge insults Ricky Ortiz, who is in Teddy Long’s office, but is reminded that Punk may cash in his briefcase.

- CM Punk defeats Edge via countout:
Strong back and forth match, but Edge decides to deliberately get counted out when he realizes his title may be in jeopardy. For the second week in a row Umaga attacks Punk from behind. The midcard feud is set.

- JR plugs the Jeff Hardy vs Chris Jericho match.

- Grisham pugs the Steelers sitting front row, whilst an arm wrestling table is stood in the ring.

- Cryme Tyme make their way to the ring. They do there “Yo, yo, yo” thing. There are air force G’s, cos their so fly! They remind fans of the dance off last week, and announce an arm wrestling contest.

- Eve defeats Layla in an Arm Wrestle (aka Cryme Tyme Hand Slammy Jam):
To begin with Layla gets a timeout because her elbow hurts. On the second attempt Eve wins. After the match a disgruntled Layla hits a neckbreaker, leaving her down and out. Cryme Tyme go to her aid. Who wouldn’t?

- Dolph Ziggler is backstage with Jesse and Jimmy Yang. He asks if they are waiting for their dates and laughs to himself, before barging the jobbers out of the way. Ziggler heads to the ring and says he’s going to rip through the locker room. He issues an open challenge. Out comes Khali!

- Khali defeats Dolph Ziggler via DQ:
Khali has the upper hand, but Ziggler soon gets a chair and destroys Khali. You’ve never heard such loud cracks! He’s certainly made a statement tonight, and Khali looks livid. Ziggler’s in-ring intensity is always good, but he’s obviously been given a little push here. Personally I think he’s going to do well. He’s young, built, athletic and can talk, what more do you need? Exposure, and he’s going to get it.

- Raw Rebound of Legacy taking out Shane.

- Edge comes down for commentary.

- Jeff Hardy defeats Chris Jericho:
Solid match, what you’d expect from these two, although a few missteps from Jeff. It’s great to see how far they have both come over the years. Jeff eventually gets the win with the Swanton. It is emphasized that Edge could have made the save but didn’t to make the match at Judgment Day easier.

After the match Rey Mysterio comes out and stands over Jericho taunting him. There’s your next feud as rumored.

Conclusion:
An above average episode of Smackdown this week, with some fresh matches due to the draft. R-Truth looks to be in the doghouse and Knox is back in his old squash mode, with no direction. However it was good to see Haas get a decent opportunity against Morrison, and Ziggler get some camera time over Khali.

Good build for Judgment Day. We have Umaga against CM Punk, Jericho set to feud with Mysterio, Ziggler to feud with Khali, Morrison to feud with Benjamin and the Edge vs Hardy match set for PPV.

Roll on Raw.
