Kane Storyline Update, JR On Raw, Photos From “The Wrestler” Movie

- The reason why the Kane “Alive or Dead” storyline was dropped is because of the introduction of Mike Adamle as GM. The original plan had Kane tied in with the “anything can happen” atmosphere on Raw, but WWE wanted to give the perception that Adamle has ultimate control. Some creative members were disappointed that they didn’t go all the way with Kane putting on his old mask again, but it was explained to them that it “was too obvious anyway.”

- Jim Ross chimed in with his thoughts on Monday’s WWE Raw on his JRSBARBQ.com blog. Here are the highlights:

On CM Punk:
“C.M. Punk is fighting for respect and to retain the World’s Title against the dangerous JBL. I see Punk winning but it won’t be easy. Interesting clash of wrestling styles also. The question here is where does a loss put Punk? Fluke? Overachiever? Back to the drawing board? Punk has never been in a match in his life this important all things considered.”

On William Regal:
“I liked William Regal’s aggressiveness but am not wild about his wrestling attire. He’s probably not overwhelmed w/ my black hat so we’re likely even.”

On Mike Adamle:
“GM Adamle is doing a much better job than many predicted. Adamle’s 2nd show was another solid effort.
I enjoyed Raw from my hotel room in Norfolk where Smackdown will be taped for Friday night airing. No official word to me regarding Mick Foley’s physical condition so my friend Tazz might be sitting in again w/ yours truly this week. I prep the same way no matter who I work with so it will be another exciting final SD prior to S’Slam.”

- Several photos have been released from the upcoming movie “The Wrestler.” I must say I’m glad they’ve captured the grunge of the Indy scene and not made it a glossy WWE-esque representation:
