June 26, 2009, WWE Smackdown Spoilers
Thanks to Glenn Bell for the following June 26, 2009, WWE Smackdown spoilers from Milwaukee:
- Mr. McMahon promo opened the show and brought out Teddy Long to ask what tonight’s matches were. Teddy announced Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio vs. Edge and Chris Jericho. Vince said that wasn’t good enough and made it a cage match with CM Punk as the guest referee.
- R Truth beat Shelton Benjamin.
- Backstage with Vince, Teddy and Rey Mysterio. Vince asked Rey about his mask and match at The Bash. Rey cut a promo on him in Spanish.
- Alicia Fox and Michelle McCool beat Gail Kim and Melina.
- Backstage with Vince and Teddy again, this time with CM Punk. Nothing major happened.
- John Morrison beat world champion CM Punk in a non-title match. Good match that must have gone around 15 minutes. After the match, they shook hands before Punk nailed him with the GTS.
- Edge and Chris Jericho beat Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio in a cage match when Edge pinned Jeff after a spear. Real good stuff here and again around the 15 minute mark. Afterwards (and this likely isn’t on TV), Punk tried to put Jeff over on the mic, but got hit with a Twist of Fate and a Swanton.
Real good taping overall.

Isn’t Edge going to have a fight at The Bash?
Not as of now.
wat time will the match be inbetwen jeff rey y2j and edge be if its 8:35 and girls match is jut starting?
WWE needs to make up its mind with what they are doing with Punk. Im getting tired of seeing him act all face like and give ratings to Hardy only to be assaulted in return. Hardy is acting more like a heel then Punk is.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Edge had a “special appearance” in the Hardy-Punk match at the Bash…
I’m 100% convinced that Edge will appear at the BASH in some form.
It was strange (yet entertaining) to see the Champ (Punk) and no.1 cont (Jeff) both pinned on the pre-PPV show… will this allow Teddy Long to make it a Fatal-4-Way including Morrison and Edge. (this will allow him to keep his job after Vince threatened to fire him)
