John Cena In 12 Rounds Review

The first thing I have to say about 12 rounds is that it was awesome. This film is a far cry from The Marine, The Condemned and See No Evil.
Going into this film my expectations weren’t very high after watching the Marine which originally had a planned theatrical release here in Australia. Upon reading the premise for this film last year I still wasn’t convince considering is was the same as the Marine. (A man’s girlfriend/Fiancé is kidnapped by a jewel thief and is must stop at nothing to get her back). The difference this time John Cena plays a cop Detective Danny Fisher who a year ago helped the FBI capture a Known fugitive Miles Jackson. The film set out to be a revenge film the villain getting revenge on Cena’s character for the accidental death of his girlfriend. Danny must complete a game aptly called ’12 Rounds’. This is where the film really picks up (Without giving anything away) with huge action scenes and better plots twists. ‘12 rounds’ has a lot more believability in reality with better character development within the film script.
This film is directed by Renny Harlin who directed such films as ‘Die Hard 2’ and produced the film ‘Speed’. This film is lot like these two films with the unpredictable plot line with action stunts of ‘Die Hard 2’and pulse pounding action of Speed. I believe having a known director helped this film a lot; Harlin has a very distinctive filming style which is used throughout the film with a lot of close up shots of characters shown from many points of views. ‘12 Rounds’ doesn’t have many known actors in the film compared to The Marine in which Robert Patrick starred. This film has it all big action stunts strong script, awesome visuals and all round entertaining film to watch and definitely worth the price of admission. I think this will be the breakout film the WWE Studios, I guess only Box office earnings will tell.
One of the things I noticed during the film is that Vince McMahon is not credited with having a producing role in the film. In previous film he served as an Executive Producer.

Yes, I agree most definitely. I have watched the Marine and even if I like John Cena in particular, I still thought of the movie as a waste of time and money.
But this was indeed a great improvement. I loved it, it made me have high blood pressure. haha. truly thrilling
At first I had to admit, I didn’t plan on watching it because I thought the plot was a very similar to ‘the marine’. The movie was awesome. The trailer was just a tease and there’s truly more to see in the movie.

perhaps the dumbest and worst movie i have ever seen–a complete waste of time
A definite improvement from The Marine. Keeps you blood pressure high, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat.
