Jake Roberts On Linda McMahon, WWE/Warrior Update, D’Lo Brown To TNA

- Thanks to Chris Yandek:
With Linda McMahon announcing her candidacy for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut this week, one of the biggest stars in the company’s history is making a bold prediction. Former WWE superstar Jake The Snake Roberts believes his former boss is going to be successful with her run and that the members of the Senate are in for all they can handle telling Chris Yandek of CYInterview.com, “The truth is that Linda’s going to win. Should she follow through with what she’s saying, it’s a damn good thing. I just feel sorry for t he rest of the Senate members because she will take no slack. She will stand up and throw a punch just like I would. She won’t back off.”

Jake’s reflections on his former boss show a woman who kept focus while her husband Vince McMahon was more radical. “She was always the steady ore in the water. Or as Vince might go up and down and bounce you around and deal with you, she was the steady one. I have nothing but respect for that woman. Anybody that can put up with all the wrestlers and stuff – anybody that can deal with that and still be steady, solid and positive and not wavier has certainly got their head screwed on right.”

- According to the Wrestling Globe, Judge Douglas L. Rayes in Arizona Superior Court ruled on 9/10 that Warrior, the former Jim Hellwig of Ultimate Warrior fame, can’t seek damages against WWE over his depiction in the Self-Destruction of Ultimate Warrior DVD. Warrior had filed suit in 2006 claiming that the DVD violated a 2000 settlement agreement where both sides had agreed not to make disparaging comments about each other. WWE’s motion to dismiss on that aspect was granted after they argued that Warrior had also made disparaging public comments. Warrior wrote about the ruling on his website. He said: “I wanted to get this news out before it got out other places and the idiotic pundits tried to claim I was hiding from mention of it because I am all consumed with grief, fear and embarrassment. WWE won a round here in my ongoing litigation with them over the Self-Destruction DVD they produced. There were actually two lawsuits going on; one at the Federal level and one at the State level. The State Court has dismissed that case. They were similar in some ways, but much different in others. I’m not going to attempt to explain what a lawyer better understands.”

- It appears D’Lo Brown will be coming to TNA as a backstage road agent, replacing the recently released BG James. Brown is well liked by Dixie Carter.

ps – Will you be attending either of the Sheffield televised shows in November?

  7. Unfortunately no. It’s hard to find people to go see wrestling these days. I’m not one for lonely hotel rooms lol

  8. Is Jake Roberts one of the biggest WWE stars ever? Isn’t he a crackhead?
This whole linda McMahon senate thing is horseshit! The fact that a junkie like Roberts supports it would be funny if it wasn’t REALLY happening.

  9. Will we ever see Jake Roberts in the hall of fame? junkie or not he deserves it. really if u think about it, most wrestlers were junkies in the 80’s n e way. still goes on today, just think jeff hardy.
