Impact Rating, Jakks Loses Revenue With TNA, Larry Zbyszko’s Return?
- Thursday’s TNA Impact on Spike TV drew a 1.0 cable rating, rounded down from a true 1.03 rating. Interestingly ECW on Tuesday also drew a 1.0 rating but was rounded up from a 0.96 true rating. So Impact just beat ECW this week. Obviously they don’t air on the same days so this is more of a superficial comparison.
- Jakks Pacific, who now owns the toy license for TNA and UFC are set to lose half of their revenue compared to what they used to earn with the WWE merchandise according to analysts. Despite this they are said to be very optimistic, realizing that 50% of WWE’s revenue is still a hell of a lot considering WWE’s huge children’s demographic. The general feeing is that the UFC/TNA combination is the second best to WWE and any other license they could acquire wouldn’t even dent what WWE used to sell.
- Larry Zbyszko is pushing for a TNA return although the company hasn’t shown any major interest. At one point he was the on air authority figure. The feeling is that they are letting him down gently by plugging his new book but have no interest in him rejoining on air or backstage.
