Impact and Superstars Ratings, Mexican Swine Flu Threatens Lucha Libre
- After several weeks of setting records at the 1.3 number, this Thursday’s TNA Impact on Spike TV drew a 1.2 cable rating. One has to wonder, despite being on at different times, whether Superstars on WGN is having a slight “Impact” on TNA. There’s only so much wrestling a week fans can watch without missing it or recording it for a later date.
-Speaking of WWE Superstars on WGN, the show drew a 0.9 cable rating for it’s second week.
- In Mexico news, a new variant of the H1N1 swine influenza has sickened at least seven patients in California and Texas, the Atlanta-based U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said yesterday. Mexico’s Health Minister Jose Cordova canceled classes in the capital, Mexico City, today and recommended citizens avoid public places after 20 fatalities from an illness possibly caused by a flu virus occurred.
For the first time since the 1985 earthquake Arena Mexico has canceled all upcoming Lucha Libre wrestling shows, as authorities fear the flu will spread quickly if there is a mass gathering of people.
