Hulk Hogan Given Complete Control Over TNA

According to the Wrestling Observer Hulk Hogan has now assumed the lead role in TNA, answering only to Pander Energy’s Bob Carter on money matters.

It was initially thought that he’d only have an on air role, but in true Hogan style he was offered the leadership and took it.

It is unsure if he has bought shares in to the company or has just been given the old Jeff Jarrett role. It is highly likely that Dixie is still technically the President of the company, but is giving Hogan free reign.

There is another big announcement yet to be revealed. One theory is if Hogan boosts the ratings considerably by the end of the year Spike TV will give him the Monday night slot against Raw. Spike TV were heavily involved in making the deal.

Is this the kiss of death or the new Monday Night Wars? We’ll have to wait and see.

  1. i know some tna fans my not like this but weather or not tna fail because of hogan, you have to admit this is and is going to be exciting, i hope they succed and we see another monday night wars

  2. I love it! I’m not the biggest Hulk-a-maniac but this ought to be good.

So far TNA has competed against Superstars as their main competition in the ratings it looks like. If they have just had one of their best ratings nights ever, that’s not all that great, really.

I am definately becoming much more interested now that the Hulkster is there, though. So I can see the ratings going much higher. At least for a little while.

  3. And then what? Just like WWF vs WCW was, WCW a.k.a TNA in this case, loses stars and WWF a.k.a WWE in this case(lol) wins the wars? JUST A THEORY THOUGH.

  4. My first reaction was, “Oh, dear god.”

I’m voting “kiss of death”… but keeping my fingers crossed that Hogan FINALLY realizes that the universe doesn’t orbit around his inflated head.

Hey, like jamie from above said, at least it’s shaking things up. Let’s just hope Hogan leaves the friggin’ kids AT HOME.

Please, Hulk. PLEASE don’t subject us to your dim-witted daughter’s hideous caterwauling every week. And Nick Hogan: TNA World Champion is just a really, really bad idea.

  5. no no no NO! this isnt true, thi isnt true, this is an evil vindictive rumour (epsicially the monday night part). This is worse then when Wikipedia said Scott hall had died

  6. Oh crap yeah Nick Hogan is training. Is this all a trick just so Hogan get his son on TV?

  7. Lol and Brooke Hogan in the beautiful people. That would be hilarious.

  8. lmao oooo god i never fort about nick, id rather lick my own arse than watch him wrestle

  9. As more and more details are flowing out, the more and more this Hogan/TNA is starting to look like the proverbial “Kiss of Death” for the company. Hogan with free reign???? Why not give it to Bishoff? At least he’ll make the show fun and entertaining, but Hogan??? He’s a egomaniac. Not a good look giving Hogan so much power.

  10. Great, in what has become traditional american style, one of the guys responsible for running WCW into the ground, a guy who still thinks it’s all about me brotha, the Obama of the wrestling world, gets a position of leadership he doesn’t deserve. What a shame. I had high hopes for TNA. A lot of in ring and out of ring talent there. I’ll miss them when they are gone. Double J he ain’t.

  11. Goodbye TNA Wrestling!

  12. Vince and Hogan are in on it together i say! lol

  13. Hell yeah~ Just what TNA and pro wrestling needs!! Great work TNA!! Lets see you take out the WWE now! Keep bringing in in some legends!!!

  14. AIC beat me to the punch, me and my grandmother both remenber the train wreck of wcw/the hilk hogan show. it is sure to be a groan worthy next few years in tna, i can see it now, 10 years from now tna will be another brand of wwe.

  15. if this is the rebirth of the monday night wars, it will be an end the the WWE’s PG rating!! (Thank God)

  16. i will also go with “kiss of death” becoz that egomaniac will ruin the already ruined company .

i also hope for war becoz monday night will never be tye same and it will be way better than the current product , but i will always be in WWE side

  17. As much as I dislike Hogan, it would be kinda cool if he does boost up the ratings and get the monday night slot. I mean lets face it, ever since the WWF/E bought out all of its compitition in 2001, the product has gotten worse and worse. Now if there is another monday night war, then just think of what the competition can do for the wrestling industry! I mean the storylines would be better and edgier and the WWE might actually drop their lame PG rated act. This has some good potential.

PS. I don’t hate TNA or anything, but if this is the dawn of the monday night wars II, then I would have to say enjoy TNA while you can. But then again I could very well be wrong.

  18. Personally I think TNA would be better off going head to head with Smackdown but making TNA live, where as Smackdown isn’t, very much like Bischoff done with Nitro all them years ago.
As for Hulk being in charge, he is falling to pieces he can’t participate much in the ring anymore. Hopefully some of the not so young pups will get onto his good side and he will teach them how to tell a story in the ring rather than a spot fest. If there’s one thing that Hogan can do that is tell a story in the ring.
I actually think this could be a good thing for TNA aslong as someone is there to keep Hogan in check and they don’t keep bringing in legends as main stars.

  19. IMO, it is Bischoff who controls Hogan. He published Hogan’s book and finances anything Hogan is connected to. Look for Eric to be in front of the cameras at some point in this game- he is the money man! If WWE drops the pg rating stuff, I will quit watching. TNA needs to pick a different night to wrestle than Mondays. Why should fans be forced to choose? Wrestling programs can dominate the entire week on television if they want to- isn’t that better for everyone?

  20. well iam i dont care what everyone else is saying but iam voting for the new monday nights war more than the kiss of death

  21. Who said a new monday night war wouldent be the modern day kiss of death to tna, the should challange smackdown cuz it aint live, just b carfull how they phrase things, ‘that will put buts in the seats”. that couldent do anything but backfire

  22. that’s hogan for you as legendary as he is that’s all he’s ever cared about money he dosen’t care about wrestling

  23. Don’t forget it was more of Nash and Hall that started the rise of WCW. Yes, Hogan helped by turning heel and then joining NWO but you are not gonna get talent to jump like they did so fast. It was basicaly the former WWE talent that gave WCW the boost which won’t happen for TNA this time around. People will get tried of Hogan, he can’t wrestle anymore. People will be disapointed this time around with Hogan I believe because the guy just can’t move anymore.

  24. if tna ends up on monday nights. it would bring back a fun night of wrestling. watchin each so to see who can up stage each other every week. maybe it will bring an end to wwe pg ratings.

  25. my prediction is that Hulk will raise TNA’s ratings quite a bit (after all, look how many people are writing about it). Making Hulk or carter think they’re ready to take on RAW accepting the monday time slot. TNA will do fairly well for the first month but then wrestling fans will get sick of having to choose. That’s when TNA’s ratings will slowly decrease since RAW has established itself as the only monday night wresling show for the past almost 9 years.TNA will either make the smart choice and go back to thursdays to establish itself a little better or take the risky choice and stay on mondays hoping for the best.

  26. I told you so.

  27. Well god damn. I originally read the title and thought how crap this would be.

But if he goes to have his own show on Mondays and feuds with RAW, it should be good. Perhaps they should start with ECW first, before clashing with RAW.

I’ll be hoping they go about this in the right way.

  28. im shocked, im thinking if hogan gets his head out of his ass then we could see monday night wars again! but if that does happen i think wwe will put this pg crap away and go back to what made them legendary. we’ll have to wait and see

  29. With the Hulkster main eventing (its inevitable) Vince will at least take TNA very seriously for once as the ratings gradually pickup. Maybe we’ll finally get some decent writing going on back over in the ‘big’ leagues. TNA will get more exposure, however short term it may be from Hogan being a main player…

    Interesting times.

  30. I feel that TNA has better talent than WWE. I think that Hogan/TNA should go up against Smackdown first. Not because its taped instead of live, but because Smackdown is probably the better of the three WWE shows right now. IMHO, better wrestlers and better storylines are on Smackdown. I’m a huge DX Fan, but I do get tired of seeing HHH, HBK, Orton, and Cena on every main event on every PPV. Kurt Angle seems to be passing the torch to the younger wrestlers on TNA where the established superstars on WWE are the only ones in the spotlight. If Hogan can put aside his ego and actually nurture the younger generation of wrestlers, TNA will surpass WWE.

  31. no suprise really tna will die with that bald cunt running the show

  32. WWE is letting good young talent get shelved because of veteran wrestlers that keep wanting to hang in the business.

Will this be another case of Vince starting to let go alot of the veteran wrestlers that are stale, and have used up their story lines? This will allow the young talent to get put into the story line like they did with The Rock, Austin, Triple H.

As before, you will see the veteran big names leave the WWE for the “upstart” promotion. As we know, TNA needs help, and the WWE needs new talent and new story lines.

    WWE v.s. WCW Part 2?

  33. One more question. Does this now mean that TNA will finally get a squared circle?

  34. If this is the new monday night wars tna should put aj,shelley, sabin, joe, lethal, daniels in 10-20 minute matches every week and see wwe try to compete with that

  35. i hate that old, disrespectful bald-headed piece of shit known as hulk hogan. he’s gonna run tna straight through the ground

  36. Hogan, Hall, Nash, Nasty boys, etc have made names for themselves in the business, but what concerns me is the sudden flood of these guys into TNA. Removing the 6-sided ring the way Hogan did is dis-respectful to the TNA original fans and his ego is already shining through. TNA needs to be improved if it’s ever gonna reach the level of the WWE, but I’m not sure if they’re taking the right approach. I, like everyone else, is both excited and nervous at the future of TNA, but I believe this: TNA needs more than just legend’s names to thrive; TNA can’t repeat the mistakes made by WCW…
