Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff Join TNA Wrestling

During the press conference in the mall area of Madison Square Garden today for Hulk Hogan’s book release it was revealed that both the Hulkster and Eric Bischoff are heading to TNA in varying degrees.
Prior to introductions TNA and Spike TV banners were hung in the conference area, which promoted a buzz from wrestling journalists. As the event commenced, Dixie Carter made the official announcement that the duo had signed on with the company.
It must be noted that as of now Hogan is considered an on air character and not a member of creative or management. As for Eric Bischoff, he will take an outsourced backstage role in helping TNA further their TV exposure through his Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment company, and is not a member of creative.
Dixie Carter stated, “Hulk Hogan is one of the world’s top pop culture icons and the biggest superstar in the history of professional wrestling. We are truly excited to welcome him into the TNA family. Our goal is to become the world’s biggest professional wrestling company. Hulk defines professional wrestling and we look forward to partnering with him in a variety of ways as we continue to grow TNA globally.”
“I’m thrilled to be jumping back into the world of professional wrestling,” said Hogan. “My fans have been asking me to return to the business for many years on a full time basis, but the timing or the opportunity has never been right until now. TNA Wrestling is a great company with an already excellent fan base, business and broadcast partner. I firmly believe now is the time for some change at TNA as they are positioned to jump to the next level in their development and I’m here to work with Dixie to help make that a reality.”
Just from this modest event TNA is now becoming a trending topic on Twitter and a Hottrend on Google.
The Hulkamania Tour will not be affected.

That is what I am talking about! Hogan, Mr. kennedy, Flair ( wrestle with a shirt on ) charismatic wrestlers that make you watch wrestling. This so awesome. I had an idea that this was gonna happen since the Hulkmania Tour in Australia included Lacey Von Erich etc. Tna is doing all the right things at the right pace to be a legimate competitor to WWE crap that they put out. HHH’s main move on The Giant was so lame you could see he let go before Giant was even falling. Way to go Vinnie Mac for becoming arrogant and thinking people are stupid and will watch whatever product you want to just shove down their throat. Wolfe segment on TNA was awesome. Just one persons opinion.
Thank the Lord
What in the…
This will either kill TNA’s rediscovered awesomeness stone dead, or raise it to the next level. Eric Young/World Elite/British Invasion/Brutus Magnus vs. Hogan, I have to say would be great, but (and I have been saying this for months) if Matt Morgan had been around in the WWF in 1989, Hogan would already have been feuding with him for two years, there’s Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, hell, anyone would be interesting for him to work with. There are whispers that this is a big money deal for 6 matches, including a feud with AJ Styles (including, presumably, a title win). Completely unconfirmed so far.
Of course, this means that Flair won’t be far behind.
Anyone else totally want to see Jay Lethal and Hulk Hogan interacting?!
To apply a little reason to this – he’ll be debuting as a strong face. We know that Styles vs Joe vs Daniels is headlining the next ppv, and Angle vs Styles is headlining the ppv after that, for the world title. McGuinness/Wolfe looks like he’ll be feuding with Angle. Who will Hogan work with, if he does wrestle? It’s between Sting, and World Elite. World Elite would work, given Hulk’s “Real American” thing. Looks like he won’t be getting his hands on the world title for a little while – I hate it when they give the game away by saying things like “in two months time, for the world title.” Now we know Styles won’t lose it before then, and Hogan won’t be headlining before then – unless, of course, they were swerving us, or TNA, Hulk, Bischoff, or Russo will just change everything, which isn’t beyond the realms of possibility either.
My prediction? He’ll be a Mick Foley style character, on-screen, but rarely, if ever, wrestling. Will he get the world title? If he does, god knows how they’ll work it in without burying Styles, or using a transitional champ. Maybe Angle will win it during their big match, leading to a dream match with one of the few guys that could disguise all Hogan’s flaws, and have a killer match with anyone – Kurt Angle vs. Hulk Hogan in three months time? Maybe. Maybe it’ll be the USA and Hulk Hogan vs. The World Elite (which I would absolutely love, really). Perhaps this explains the big World Elite push, given that TNA does like that kind of thing, and so does Hogan. I’m already cringing at a Sheik Abdul Bashir – Hogan programme/match/angle. Maybe he’ll be presented as a guy who’s (storyline) bought all the shares from Mick Foley, and is now general manager. Roll on Impact, I say!!!
Vince Russo and Hulk Hogan fall out totally in four days time however? I’d say that’s very likely. There will be a backstage World War Three.
Either I have been smoking too much weed today or I just read that HULK FUCKING HOGAN AND ERIC BISCHOFF ARE COMING TO TNA !?!?!?!?!?!?
Wow…didn’t see this coming.
I see this as being good for a possible ratings spike in the short term. Whether or not it’s a good thing in the long run will depend on Hogan’s willingness to do what’s right for TNA instead of what makes Hulk Hogan look good. I don’t think anyone wants to see Hogan buzzsaw his way through a talented young roster…again. I hope they’re smart enough to keep him OUT of the ring as much as possible.
In other words, don’t get too excited guys.
Did not see that coming at all, Holy Fuck??!!!?
I for one think it will be fantastic and I’m stoked that the Hulkster and the the Bischster are coming to TNA. Here we go, watch the rating fly now, as long as he doesn’t have the whole dressing room “jobbing” to him, I think it can only be a good thing.
WOW!
This is just terrible. I do like the idea of Eric being called “The Bitchster” however. It’s not like this is the first time he’s (Hogan) been in TNA. I hope it works out. I just have a bad feeling this will close the promotion down.
In a perfect world ROH would get the timeslot and replace them. I just have a feeling were stuck with the monopoly that is Titan Entertainment. (is it still called that?) I hope I’m wrong.
This makes me want to watch TNA.
this is a big move for TNA now after sting has gone i mean its not sure that he will return so TNA has made the right deal by letting those two join the company but also as i red above that neather hogan nor bischoff is on the creative team so we wont see a lot changes in TNA’ well for now we wont. because now TNA is inside a lot of big storylines and they cant just lit hogan move into it i think the only way i can see it is with the world elite but again iam very excited about this move and very want to watch the next episode. eather way as (Daysinthewake) said this could kill TNA or rise it to the next lvl. if they do the jop right and kept the company going in a good way you will find TNA challenge wwe in a matter of 5 years instead of 10. nice move for TNA
we will see what turns out of this
well hulk you just proved your a well grown traitor lol, this could be a very good thing for tna or a disastrous thing. personaly id be more excited that bischoff is there, not that faggot hogan.
well that was shocking ,
but hulkster and bicthster will bring fans which watch WWE and TNA for entertainment not for Wrestling
well i personally will watch how they are gonna book fucking hulkster coz i never liked him and will never like him
Well, the tides of wrestling power is changing — could be for the better, could be for the worst — nevertheless, they’re definitely changing. If all goes in favor of TNA, WWE will have some well deserved competition, finally. That means, WWE will have to step their A game up. And it won’t be like last time when WCW was threatening. This time WWE won’t have the Attitude Era to carry them. PG is the way to go with them now. And if memory serves me right, it was being stuck in the PG era of the 80’s that almost buried WWF/E in the first place. It’ll be interesting how the wrestling landscape will change (if it does) in the coming months/years.
damn hulk is out to make a lot of money now that the divorce is done and he doesnt have to pay any more money to that gold digging whore.
i haven’t agreed with hogans ways for the past couple of years, but i do have to say that this might be a great move for tna. i would go nuts if i got to see sting vs. hogan 1 more time.
I have always supported TNA…. I must say Greatest move ever!!!! They do need Flair though…. He should sign to make his last match with Sting…. With all these guys they could really give the Legends Belt a push!!!!!!!!!!
and of all places for tna to tell the world they sign hogan they did outside
WWE HOME TURF MSG
VINCE AM SURE IS PISSED
Wow. I too did not see this coming. Now I will watch TNA. I honestly have not watched TNA and WWE in a very long time thanks to the better product called AAA from Mexico. Thank the Gods for creating the DVR. TEAM HOGAN.
this is the greatest shit ever in WRESTLING HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!OMFG this is awesome i love tna ive only been watching it for 4 years when i started 2 hear that christian cage ,kevin nash; was there i got more hooked into it when i found out THE ICON STING! AND TRY 2 BLOW UP THE YOUNG GUYS AS WELL! but further more good job tna your my main brand
Does anyone honestly believe that Hogan and Bischoff will keep their hands out of creative? TNA will soon be Hogan’s own personal fiefdom just like WCW was. A.J. Styles, Samoa Joe, Daniels, and all the rest of the young talent that TNA should have been pushing three years ago will have to lay down for Hogan. Then there’s the fact that Kevin Nash, another washed up has been past his prime- wait, did Nash ever even have a prime?- is still there, being a politician and manipulating everyone. The Great Idiot, a.k.a. Russo, is still booking, Angle by some reports has too much stroke, and not many of these people like each other. Dixie Carter allows all of this to happen. She should take charge of that locker room, lay down the law, and act like the boss for once. Instead, she’ll do just what Turner did, which is allow Hogan and the other old dogs to form factions, look out for themselves, and run roughshod over the company, the fans, everyone else’s career, and business be damned. That at least is what I believe will happen. I hope I’m wrong, but this looks like WCW all over again. Even if I’m wrong- which is rare- TNA just got The Empire’s attention. That isn’t good. Pharaoh will now do everything in his considerable power to crush TNA, and TNA does not have the resources to put up the kind of fight that WCW did, or should have. With ROH and the other independents struggling, the NWA a shell of a shell of a shell of its former self- Mschif is the only NWA champion whose name I even know- it looks like a year, maybe two, from now, Pharaoh will finally have the true monopoly he believes is his birthright. I already don’t watch TNA or WWE, and that is unlikely to change. This has a lot to do with why I don’t think pro wrestling will exist in another twenty years. The rest of you go ahead and watch it and enjoy yourselves. Just don’t gripe when I say “I told you so”.
Hogan can barely walk let alone Wrestle, are you serious??? Hogans knees are so torn up he should be walking with a walker.
Tna are making a mig mistake by signing WWE’s garbage. come on TNA these wrestlers got released of a reason. They suck and there old!!!!! grow some talent and leave the old men alone!!!
i agree with everyone saying that the old guys shouldn’t have more power than the young guys, and i DO NOT want to see hogan have the roster job to him, but the fact is that TNA just got MAJOR attention, and that’s exactly what they needed. the wwe needs some competition, and this move will close the gap somewhat in the ratings war.
jrok…. learn how to spell bitch
Did you just leave a comment to tell someone to learn to spell? That is a stupid waste of time. Go on a grammar site to complain… Good god!
On a relevant note. I don’t think Hogan will shut down TNA. It will be Dixie! Pushing the Jarret family out was a BAD move! Does she think she is stronger than Ted Turner, because she is doing all the things he did. They’re probably laughing in New York right now. It’s a shame. TNA is good for the indies and I enjoy the show.
I personally think that it would be great if Sting could come back and do a match against Hogan and if Flair came to TNA it would have to be Sting’s final match. Everybody knows that Sting kicks Flair’s tail every time that they fight so I think that it would be great for Sting to retire that way.
