Freddy Prinze Jr’s WWE Creative Role: More Of a Mascot Than Anything

The general feeling is that Freddy Prinze Jr’s role on the WWE creative team is more of a Hollywood mascot than an actual hands on writer. WWE is always looking for new ways to become more mainstream and “Hollywood” and the hiring of Freddy has given them tonnes of publicity. They feel he’ll be able to plug the company in Hollywood social circles and improve wrestling’s reputation against other forms of entertainment like Movies and TV.

His actual position is likely to involve giving the odd creative idea and “Hollywood” perspective, as opposed to sitting in on every meeting and touring every date with the company. He’s more of a mascot than an employee.

Prinze is a longtime fan, so has some knowledge of the product unlike other so called mainstream hirings such as Mike Adamle!
