Former Raw Announcer In Hospital, NOAH Star Too Asian, Heyman Thoughts
- Former WWE Raw color announcer Rob Bartlett, who does character voices and sidekick duties on Don Imus’s morning show, heard locally on WJZW (105.9 FM), has been hospitalized suffering from multiple blood clots. Doctors give Bartlett a good chance for a full recovery. Bartlett was the original color analyst for WWF Monday Night Raw.
- Speaking of Raw, Japanese star Go Shiozaki also recently had a dark match for WWE, beating Carlito, who’s still in the “doghouse”. Word is that Vince McMahon thought he was “too Asian” and not marketable. Management weren’t impressed with his work. Like Takeshi Morishima, Go is a NOAH and former ROH star.
- Paul Heyman is back with his latest column for the Sun Newspaper in the UK. It’s amazing how a guy that claims he doesn’t want to get back in the wrestling business, is always backing up Vince McMahon. Is Heyman hustling us? Anyway here are the highlights:
“He doesn’t mind getting up at 5am to do media call-ins. He doesn’t mind flying to several cities on his rare days off to promote the upcoming shows. He doesn’t mind flying to the set of a WWE Films-produced movie, doing his job there, and then flying directly to make every booking, in every city, at every event WWE Raw promotes. Cena is a workhorse. He’s a tireless promotional machine. And the project, event, DVD, pay per view, film, CD, and merchandise he promotes are all branded “WWE”. There’s not one single wrestler I’ve met in the past two decades with Cena’s drive, ambition and determination to give every fiber of his existence to the company. ”
It must be noted that Heyman was Cena’s original supporter and arguably got him his main roster spot.
