First News From TNA Impact Video Game, Which Was Released Yesterday

- It seems the game is definitely sought after as several stores are already out of stock from pre-orders, with some customers not even getting their pre-order until October.

- Several outlets, including Gamestop are giving away a free TNA DVD with the game, which seems to be a promotional disc showcasing the product to people who may have just bought the game but don’t watch Impact on TV. It features Ultimate X (Final Resolution 2005), Ultimate X (Bound for Glory 2007), Elevation X (Destination X 2007), King of the Mountain (Slammiversary 2007), and Steel Asylum (Sacrifice 2008).

- Promotional material sent out to stores, some included in the game boxes features a leaflet boasting TNA’s 2 hour format and ratings. It claims they have increased ratings by 20 percent.

- The game has got generally positive reviews, with the main conclusion being that its more of an arcade, pick up and play game, which is fun as opposed to a perfect simulation that is slow and boring.

- The story mode has one direction, with no alternate branches, although you create the Suicide character yourself.

- IGN.com scored the game a 6.8 on the 360, the PS3 version was next with a 6.4 and the PS2 version got a low 5.2. The Wii version of the game isn’t out for another week.

- I will have a full review next week when I get my copy.
