ECW Rating, Candice Michelle Update, Mysterio Pay Issues, Sting’s Retirement

- This week’s episode of ECW on Sci-Fi, featuring the somewhat heel turn of Finlay drew a 1.1 cable rating.

- Candice Michelle is now medically cleared to return to the ring, although it seems the company has lost faith in her. It wouldn’t be surprising to see her in a non wrestling role.

- Rey Mysterio and several stars have talked with management over their contracts and pay. A lot of wrestlers get percentages of their merchandise sales and other revenues, but because most revenues are down, their pay is also down. Pay was one of the main issues with Rey when he signed his new deal.

- In TNA news, “The Icon” Sting is reportedly contemplating retirement. Since his debut with the company he has signed one year deals to keep his options open, and the feeling is that he wants to retire in 2010. His departure will no doubt be TNA’s “Ric Flair Farewell”.

50 year old Borden is one of the highest paid stars on the show, and has a verbal agreement to be kept in the main even picture. If he does leave it’ll free up funds and possibly open the spot for some younger talent.

  1. Sting??? That is that loser still wrestling?

  2. Why do they have Sting in a Purple, black and red coat when his colors are black and white, when he does have the face paint on apparently they cant decide paint or no paint since they show him on tv in both, he should be like he was back in WCW coming from the top and being able to take on 5 wrestlers. With everything Rey Mysterio has done in his career and for WWE, he shouldn’t even have to get on them about his pay, he should be treated as a senior superstar but they treat him like if he is a rookie with no experience. Injury Prone? so is most of the roster & they still make up to 1 million a year.
