While I am usually in suspect of WWE's decision making regarding contract negotiations and releases. There approach toward Mr. Kennedy (If in fact they do cut his wages or release him) would be the right thing to do.
Being a professional wrestler means that you are not only an entertainer, but in fact an athlete. It is his lively hood and therefore should treat it as such.
His in ring preformance is lacking and his mic skills are moderate and all hype, unlike lets say Santino Marella another WWE mid-carder who's mic skills are elite.
Mr. Kennedy should look towards building a career oustide of the ring as a color commentator, or be a big player in the indy circuit or TNA.

I hope WWE offer Mr. Kennedy a strong enough deal to keep him from going to TNA, as a fully fit Kennedy has great potential. Maybe the WWE should get him back on TV like they did when Austin couldn't compete and utalise his mic skills. A few weeks/months of this (done well) would have the crowd so pumped up his return could be off the chart and a title win could soon follow. - Either that or he'll re-appear to a mid card slot and end up being another Carlito!
