Donald Trump Buys Raw – But What Does This Mean?

For the first time in a while WWE were able to pull off a truly shocking storyline that wasn’t leaked out prior to broadcast. None other than Billionaire celebrity Donald Trump “bought” WWE Raw and has assumed an authority character on the show. But what does all this really mean for the fans and the company?
Firstly, rest assured he did not actually buy Raw, that would technically be impossible unless he bought the majority stock, which they would never let him do. He does however appear to be taking on a good guy authority role.
Donald Trump and McMahon are close friends and go back a while. WrestleMania IV and WrestleMania V were held at Trump Plaza, and Trump actually took part in Wrestlemania 23 in the “battle of the billionaires”.
Although he has had a lot of celebrity camera time and his own reality show, Trump is not an actor nor a wrestling personality, so his mic time may end up coming off heavily produced or Adamle-esque, or even totally pre-recorded on the tron. On top of this one would assume that Trump can not fill the role for the long-term. So will he be here for a few months to build up a storyline? Or will he only pop up every few weeks when he has the time like authority figures pre-attitude era? One thing’s for sure is he’ll have to bail by early 2010 for season 9 of The Apprentice, but I doubt he’ll make it that far.
Trump is a big name that may boost ratings and get some mainstream publicity, but don’t look for anything earth shattering. My guess is after a a month or so of fan friendly decisions Vince will find a way to get one over on Trump.

As far as Trump buying Raw storyline goes, I would love to watch the Invasion thing again, as I was not able to watch WWE-WCW invasion since pro-wrestling was not available in India a decade ago.
This is great maybe they will get some better story lines to make it more exciting.Plus maybe bring in some new blood in and spice things up. bring back stone cold as manager that would be good thsnks.
Blake Porter TNA is bullshit. TNA is the special olympics of professional wrestling watch it the crowd barely gives a fuck its all WWE has beens and never will be’s. AKA Sting, Nash, Booker, Cry baby Angle, Mick”worst wrestler ever” Foley, Victoria, Bad Ass Billy Gunn, The Dudley Bitches, need i say more?
what would make this storyline better would be for Trump to recall some of the thorns in Mcmahons side ie Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, Goldberg and let them run riot for a few weeks. Perhaps if Mcmahon goes go for a Smackdown role then have these guys invade….but then again this “invasion-led story line” has been donw before.
but it would be exciting if older characters fired by mcmahon were re-hired by Trump.

This is definitely an interesting storyline that the folks at WWE have come up with. Not quite sure where this could lead for once lol. Remember though, this may not help make changes that many of us are hoping for, for the fact that it is all most likely Vince McMahon’s idea that is taking place in the first place. I pretty sure Vince isn’t really giving Donald any creative freedom. He’s more than likely going to be reading off of some Q cards on a pre-recorded video on the Titantron most of the time. I’m definitely still hoping that this brings some kind of interesting change in the WWE and hopefully more unpredictable or entertaining storylines. Wrestling horribly needs some redemption after these last 2 or 3 years! I still say they need to get away from this PG crap though!
Hopefully it’ll bring Raw back to its former glory,

I’m a bit worried about commercial free RAW’s in the US, as the UK and most other broadcasters will still have the ads and we’ll possibly miss-out on potential important segments.
Anything that’s fresh and new will be interesting to see on RAW.
Any different wrestling is always good news. Who would push WWE without another wrestling organization to give some competition? TNA has its flaws sure, but when you go to their matches you are treated like royalty. It is fan friendly and the wrestlers are busting their butt.I have met the wrestlers from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and 2000. Respect is something earned not taken for granted. Lets not take TNA, ROH, and any other organization for granted. I am a wrestling fan first and foremost. Maybe roller derby.
ok, first of all this could be just another stupid storyline made up by vince, so lets all take a wait and see approach to see if this one will actually be worth watching. And, its just one week of no commercials, they never said it’s going to be commercial free from now on, so no big deal there until we see every raw from now on commercial free. that really is the only way we win out here is if the commercials say goodbye for a long time. oh, and nico, TNA is NOT bullshit!!!! TNA actually entertains wrestling fans unlike wwe. TNA creates interesting storylines and keeps a sense of realism missing from wwe right now, so put a sock in it, ok.
first of all its not a story line it is true he has brought the brand name raw not wwe, raw will still be advised by wwe who will continue to be its sponser but as far as smackdown and ecw are concered they are no part of raw as all contracts will be issued to raw and not wwe.
so for those who think its a joke or storyline it is not and the above story is far from true it is all true and its been discussed now for weeks.

I feel that vince is pulling a new storyline for the fans of the wwe. He and Donald worked very well during wrestlemania 23. I am sure with as much work that vince mcmahon and his family have invested. they surely wouldnt throw it out the window. Donald Trump doesnt have the time or characterization to dedicate this move. I feel its all a move to make higher rating’s and more entertainment for the wwe universe.

I have been watching wrestling since i was a kid and the storylines they have now SUCK! They should hire me as a writer. I’m so sick of wrestling that I hardly watch it any more. Bring back the old wrestling when it was down right fighting and entertainment. I mean come on I’m sick of the same people getting the belt. There is no diversity in the wwe. I think there is a total of 4 black wrestlers in WWE. Crime Tyme where they go. Ummmmmmmmmmmm. Its just plain stupid now. Its not even entertaining or funny like it was when the Rock, Stonecold, the REAL UNDERTAKER was on there. The real UNDERTAKER WAS BAD. THE REAL KANE WAS THE BOMB AND HAD THE BODY TO MATCH. NOW HE JUST LOOK LIKE A BEER BELLY FREAK! WHO CARES ABOUT DONALD TRUMP. NOT ME! WWE COULD HAVE DID BETTER THAN THAT.
I mean there are some wrestlers that are really overrated. For example, John Cena(he’s no ROCK), Randy Orton(smush face), all these past wrestler kids getting into the business with no good storyline. Where are the managers? Remember when they had managers? For example some of these stupid so called “DIVA’S” could be managers, because they sure cant fight. Rick Flair needs to be a manager and stop getting in the ring with his old A**. He was the man back then, but move on to something else. Remember when James J. Dillard used to take off his shoe and bust someone in the head, well bring back those manager types. Now on to “GOLD DUST”, come on Why make a fool out of him. He is a good wrestler. He should have stayed at tnt. He can wrestle good. Why are they doing this stupid stuff. Edge and Christian TLC, was good to and the Hardy boys. Now its like change the channel to see what else is on cause this sucks. The Undertaker’s Minstry of Darkness. Come on, that was the bomb back then. When and IF taker comes back bring him back bad. You got the Great Kali, kissing women with that nasty looking mouth. What is up with that. He is a big man. Him and Big Show should have a real feud to see who is the biggest and baddest. Mark Henry and Vissara, those some big men. They can have a feud. Pick new feuds for god’s sake!
i hope one day i win megabucks lotto so i can create my own company and bury vince. bring back wrestling the way it used to be. wrestling should be “WRESTLING”, not entertainment. thats the bottom line to all of this! To me it is obvious Trump is going to be the money man behind Legacy and now hopefully they will be a unbeatable force. I can forsee a legacy vs Mc Mahon match where Vince gets his revenge.
To be honest I was disappointed with Raw as adding Donald Trump into the mix is a replay of farces that occured in the Apprentice and in the Miss America pageant.
Glad there is ECW and Smackdown to watch where real wrestling is shown.

I wish wwe would get its own channel so they can replay every raw episode from after austin did his 3:16 speech to to the day vince bought wcw. RAW was epic when they went head to head with Nitro.

This is one of the dumbest story lines yet. 1st if Vince had sold RAW it would of made financial news. 2nd no major news service has even commented on this. 3rd any sale of RAW would require approval of shareholders. Anyone doubt this is just a story line have you forgotten the “Vince is Dead” story. Most likely this is a way for NBC/USA to drum up more interest in both Apprentice and RAW. There is no way Trump had enough money to buy RAW since most references to Trumps so called wealth show he has maybe a million in liquid assets.
