I haven’t bought WWE magazine since December 2007! Vince doesn’t realise that people don’t want to see guys like Batista, Undertaker, John Cena and Rey Mysterio on the cover anymore!Everytime i go into somewhere like Easons I’d look at the wrestling section and I swear I see the same old faces all the time! And right behind the wrestling section is behind the kids section and I’d see the cheap rip off of WWE magazine “WWE Kids Magazine” and two outta 3 times I bet I’d either see Undertaker or Batista! MADNESS!!!

I also don’t understand that if the magazine is aimed at the aforementioned male age group, that there would be such a focus on the babyfaces on the cover, who are marketed more at the younger fans, as Jarred said. The WWE have recently released a kids magazine, which if it was legitimised a bit more by having real covers and images instead of cartoons/animations, would allow the flagship magazine to be a bit more daring with its content and covers, like it was when it was first released.

Keelan, you should definitely get back into WWE Magazine. Even though I mostly criticise it in the article, there are a lot of strong points to the mag, especially the new look magazine of the last few years. While you don’t get opinions from fans and non-WWE biased content like you do in the independent magazines, but the money and resources behind the WWE jugernaut means that the photoshoots are of a high quality and mostly innovative style, and expose wrestling fans (specifically 18-35 year old males) to a lot of products they think they’ll like.

Babyfaces: Cena, Jeff, and Mysterio are for the kids and Heels like Orton Edge are for adults.

Interesting topic to discuss. Even though I get a 74% discount I
haven’t been able to bring myself to buy a WWE magazine since 1999.
Even as a kid they didn’t interest me as much as the more open
independent magazines.

I guess the lack of Divas on the covers is a “kids” thing and the
restricted male covers is probably a business decision. Who’s more
recognizable at the checkout to a child than John Cena?
